2 ' - :vjy".. ms ii--;,;^,f' INTRODUCTION Danra Resources Ltd. holds 102 claims at the east end of the Hemlo greenstone belt in Ontario. The claims were acquired in 1983 following the discovery of significant gold mineral ization in the area. In mid 1984, Danra applied for designation of Phase I of their proposed exploration program under the Ontario Mineral Exploration Program Act (OMEP). Approval wos obtained May 30, 1984, and the exploration work commenced May 31. Phase I work was originally planned to include a preliminary geological examination, airborne EM and Mag surveys, prospecting, reconnaissance geological mapping, stripping and trenching. Anticipated cost was $30,000. As results were obtained, the program was modified slightly, and no stripping or trenching war* performed. Total cost of the Phase I work amounted to ^16, This report discusses the results of the reconnaissance geo logical mapping and prospecting, and together with the report by R. L. S. Hogg of Aerodat Ltd., covers all the Phase I technical work performed on the Danra property.

4 f Reconnaissance Geological Mapping and Prospecting DANRA RESOURCES LIMITED Hemlo Area Gold Prospect Location; The Danra property is at the eastern end of the Hemlo greenstone belt in Ontario. The claims are situated approximately midway between Sault Ste. Marie, some 210 miles (330 km) to the southeast, and Thunder Bay, some 240 miles (390 km) to the west. The Canadian Pacific Railway siding at Hemlo is located about 25 miles (40 km) to the west. The main line of the Canadian Pacific Railway passes through the'southern and western portions of the property, as it follows along the banks of the V*hite River. Trans Canada Highway #17 passes through and along the northern boundary of the property. The town of White River lies 7.5 miles (12 km) east of the property on Highway #17. Figure I shows the location of the property. Access: The eastern and south central portions of the property are easily reached by a network of old lumber haulage roads leading southwestward from Highway #17. The northern portion of the property is easily reached by foot through the bush from Highway #17. The western portion of the property is reached easiest by canoe along the White River. Convenient public access to the White River has been provided by the Dept. of Highways where Highway #11 bridges the river. Depending upon the level of water in the river, 1-3 short portages may be necessary. 6 The group consists of approximately 4100 acres (1630 hectares). The claims are in McCron, Cecile, and Knowles Townships, and are depicted on Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources Claim Plans M-1, Area of Denis Lake, and M-ll, Area of Tarpon Lake. Figure I shows the individual claims that comprise the property. Mining claims SSM , , , and were recorded on June 8, Mining claims SSM were recorded on July 7, The results of the airborne geophysical surveys have been submitted and approved for 80 days of assessment credits per claim on all 100 of these claims. They.are in good standing until June 8 and July 7, 1986, with 20 days of surplus credits per claim to apply towards the following year. Mining claims SSM and 797 were recorded on September 17, They come due on Sept. 17, 1985, however ground work has already been performed on these claims, and can be submitted to satisfy assessment work requirements in order to retain the ground through to 1986, Topography; Most of the property is relatively flat, with relief of less than 100 feet (30 meters). Two high hills, located in the SW and east central parts of the property are 450 feet (135 meters), and 350 feet (105 meters), respectively, in height. Previous Work: No record of any previous work on the property was found in the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources assess ment files, and no evidence of any previous work was found on the ground. Reconnaissance Geological Mapping and Prospecting: The Danra property is situated at the east end of the Hemlo greenstone belt. The metavolcanics and metasediments that comprise this belt have been designated by Muir as Archean, and classified

7 by him as belonging to the Heron Bay Sequence. These supra crustal rocks appear to be extensively intruded by Archean granitic bodies. Figure II shows the general geology of the Hemlo Area. Limited Reconnaissance Geological Mapping and Prospecting was performed on the Danra property in early July, Two separate portions of the property were examined - the area around the White River in the western part of the property, and the area that has b sen cut over in the centre of the property. The Reconnaissance Geological Mapping.and Prospecting was performed by running north-south traverse lines at 200 meter (660 foot) intervals. North-south claim lines were utilized wherever possible. The pace and compass method was employed. The results are shown on Figure III. Six basic lithologies were encountered on the Danra property. They are: Diabase Pegmatite Granite Lit Par Lit Granite Metasediments Metavolcanics The diabase is dark grey in colour on the fresh surface, and brownish-grey on weathered surfaces. The rock is fine to medium grained. It was located only in the SW corner of the property. Composition of the diabase is predominantly plagio clase feldspar and pyroxene. Contacts were not observed, but it is assumed that the diabase is discordant. Pegmatites are ubiquitous throughout the Danra property whereever granites occur. The pegmatite is pink to cream to pale grey in colour, both on fresh and weathered surfaces. Mineralogically, the pegmatite is composed almost exclusively of varying amounts of quartz and feldspar. Locally the variation may be so extreme that the pegmatite may be composed of quartz or feldspar. Minor biotite is also present. Grain size is variable, from medium to very coarse grained. Granite is a field term that includes granitoid intrusives of a range of compositions from granite to granodiorite. These rocks are pinkish, cream-coloured, or pale greyish-white in colour, both on fresh and weathered surfaces. Feldspar and quartz are the predominant minerals, with varying amounts of biotite also present. Muscovite may locally be present rather than biotite. Hornblende is less common. Grain size is usually

9 medium. The granites occur interbedded with metasediments and metavolcanics throughout the Danra property, trending in a general NE-SW direction, and forming about 5096 of the outcrop areas. Lit par lit granite and granite gneiss are the second most abundant lithology on the Danra property, comprising about 3096 of the observed outcrop areas. This unit commonly occurs adjacent to metasediments, and is therefore thought to have been derived from them. Feldspar and quartz are the predominant mineral constituents, with lesser amounts of biotite and/or hornblende. Remnants of granitized metasediment, or possibly metavolcanic, may locally be present within the lit par lit granites. This unit is pale pink or light grey in colour, both on fresh and weathered surfaces. Grain size is generally medium. Lineation is always parallel to the trends observed in the metasediments, i.e., NE-SW. Metasediments are the third most prominent rock type found on the Danra property, comprising approximately of the outcrop areas. The metasediments are of the wacke type. Bedding is generally vague, but is locally discernable. The metasediments are commonly dark to medium gray in colour on fresh surface, air.u wearher to a light grey or buff colour. Grain size is generally fine to medium. Quartz and feldspar are the pre dominant minerals, followed by chlorite and biotite. The metasediments are often granitized to varying degrees, causing them to sometimes resemble the lit par lit granites. Metavolcanics comprise only about 396 of the observed outcrop areas. The metavolcanics are predominantly mafic in composition. They are dark grej.sh-green in colour on the fresh surface, and generally pale greyish-green on the weathered surface. Grain size is generally fine. Amphibole is the predominant mineral, with feldspar comprising the balance of the rock. Like the metasediments, the metavolcanics are often granitized to varying degrees. 6. Conclusions; The Reconnaissance Geological Mapping and Prospecting indicate that approximately half of the Danra property is underlain by metasediments and metavolcanics, or their granitized equivalents.

10 7. Recommendations i The balance of the Danra property should be geologically mapped and prospected at a reconnaissance level. The results of the Aerodat airborne geophysical survey should be evaluated, and several of the conductive zones should be selected and explored in detail on the ground. Any further exploration work would be contingent to favourable results of the additional geological mapping and prospecting, and of the detailed ground follow-up work.
