18 Abut Advanced Features & Operatin EORY BACKUP - In the event f a pwer lss, the thermstat will retain the stred prgram settings withut external pwer r batteries. 2 STAGE OPERATION - The 2nd Stage f heat r cl is turned n when (1) the 1st Stage has been n fr a minimum f tw minutes, and (2) the temperature spread frm the setpint is equal t r greater than: the setpint plus the deadband, plus 2 degrees. Heating Dead Dead 2 degrees Band Band 2 degrees Cling 2nd Stage turn n 1st Stage turn n Heat Setpint Cl Setpint 1st Stage turn n 2nd Stage turn n INIU / SETPOINT DIFFERENCE - The Heat and Cl setpints will nt be allwed t cme any clser t each ther than the value set in Advanced step # 7, n page 13. This minimum difference is enfrced during Aut changever and Prgram On peratin. PROGRAABLE FAN - If the Prgrammable Fan timer is set t a value ther than 0:00, the fan will run fr the preprgrammed amunt f time, page 13, step# 9. The Prgrammable Fan timer will start the fan at the tp f each hur. The Prgrammable Fan may be active even if the thermstat mde is Off. Steps 10 & 11 restrict the hurs in which Prgrammable Fan may perate. Step# 10, page 14 is the start time and step# 11 is the stp time. Setting the times t the same setting in bth steps 10 & 11 will allw Prgrammable Fan t perate 24 hurs a day. Page 17

19 Abut Advanced Features & Operatin EERGENCY - Is a feature available t Heat Pump installatins. T turn n Emergency Heat press in the Fan buttn. While hlding the Fan buttn press the Up buttn fr 2 secnds. The Cl setpint display will read EH. fr Emergency Heat FAN 12:00 : Am 73 eh 74 During Emergency Heat the thermstat will turn n the fan and the 2nd stage f heat, when there is a demand fr heat, lcking ut the 1st stage cmpressr. Exiting Emergency Heat is the same as entering. During Emergency Heat nly OFF and are available. ELECTRIC - Selecting Electric Heat n, page 13, step 5, will cause the thermstat t turn n the fan immediately any time there is a heat demand. Since all gas furnaces cntrl the fan, this feature shuld be ff unless the heater is nly electric. Page 18

20 Abut Advanced Features & Operatin KEYPAD LOCK - T prevent unauthrized use f the thermstat, the frnt panel buttns may be disabled. T disable, r lck the keypad, press and hld in the de buttn. While hlding the de buttn in, press the Up and Dwn buttns in tgether. The Lcked icn will appear n the display. all 3 fr Keypad Lckut 12:00 : Pm Lcked T unlck the buttns, again press and hld the de buttn. While hlding the de buttn in, press the Up and Dwn buttns in tgether. The Lcked icn will disappear frm the display. 85 Page 19

21 Abut Advanced Features & Operatin VACATION - When the thermstat is in Vacatin mde, the thermstat will perate under the Vacatin time perid set pints. In rder fr Vacatin mde t becme active the thermstat must be in the Prgram On mde. Vacatin mde will take effect when the time clck reaches 12:00am. VACATION the VACATION buttn t enter the vacatin prgramming setup steps. Select the number f days that the Vacatin Schedule will be in effect. A value f 0 disables Vacatin mde. Adjust the cling setpint fr Vacatin mde. (35-99 ) Adjust the heating setpint fr Vacatin mde. (35-99 ) y unccupied 85 unccupied unccupied the Vacatin buttn t exit the screens. If n buttns are pressed, the display will leave the setup screens after 30 secnds. VACATION Page 20

22 Abut Advanced Features & Operatin DUAL SETPOINT BEHAVIOR - The adjustable setpint range is: degrees in Fahrenheit and 7-35 degrees in Centigrade. When in the mdes Heat r Cl, this adjustable range is unhampered. When adjusting any Aut mde, including prgramming 4 Time perids, the thermstat will nt allw the Heat setpint t get clser t the Cl setpint than the value prgrammed as the minimum difference in step 7, page 13. When entering the Aut mde frm Cl, the Heat and Cl setpints will remain spread apart by the amunt that they were adjusted, prir t entering Aut. Fr example: If the Cl setpint was set t 80 while in the Cl mde and the Heat setpint was adjusted t 70 while in the Heat mde, upn entering the Aut mde the Heat and Cl setpints wuld be 80 and 70. Bth setpints wuld then mve up and dwn tgether, (in this example spread by 10 degrees), by pressing the up r dwn buttns. T mve the Heat and Cl setpints clser tgether, enter the Cl r Heat mde by pressing the de buttn, then adjust the setpint(s) clser tgether. Heat is limited t hw clse it can cme t Cl by step 7, page 13. 23 Abut Advanced Features & Operatin OUTSIDE SENSOR (Optinal Accessry) - When cnnected t terminals RS+5, RS, & GND n the back f the thermstat, the thermstat will read the temperature frm the Outside Sensr when asked t. This thermstat will nt cntrl t this sensr, it is nly t read utside temperature. T read the temperature frm the Outside Sensr, press the Outside buttn f the thermstat. The display will then nly shw Outside temperature. ing the Outside buttn will then return the display t nrmal peratin. The Outside Sensr is available in a wired r wireless versin. The wired sensr can be cnnected t the thermstat with up t 500 f 20 ga. r 300 f 18 ga. Unshielded, thermstat wire. See the Outside Sensr instructins fr further details. FACTORY DEFAULTS - If, fr any reasn it is desirable t return all stred settings back t the factry default settings, press the de buttn. While hlding the de buttn in, press the Fan buttn fr 5 sec. All icns will appear. and hld in the Fan buttn until Fd appears. This resets all factry settings. T calibrate rm temperature, press the Up and Dwn arrw buttns simultaneusly, twice. At this pint use the Up and Dwn buttns t calibrate rm temperature, if needed. the de buttn t return t nrmal peratin. NOTE CAUTION ON PAGE 1. Page 22
