22 Seafloor Habitat Mapping Abu Dhabi Environmental Agency Provision of Abu Dhabi Baseline map for benthic habitats using high resolution image data Validated (85% overall classification accuracy) and embedded into day-to-day work of the Abu Dhabi Environmental Agency (EAD) EAD database:
23 Summary Shallow water depth from optical satellite sensors can be derived up to the light extinction depth (approx. 1x Secchi Disk Depth) Shallow water bathymetry data can be provided in different grid spacing from 1.3, 10 to 15m. Data follow OGC standards, thus be integrated standard software. Typical turn-around time for 500 sq km ranges from 3 days to 3 weeks depending on grid spacing. Understanding physics is mandatory to handle uncertainties and perform independent data processing Further layers include seafloor habitats, obstructions and water column properties.
