1 GSA Data Repository Different stacking patterns along an active fold and thrust belt Acerenza Bay, Southern Apennines (Italy) Domenico Chiarella 1, Sergio G. Longhitano 2, Marcello Tropeano 3 1 Department of Earth Sciences, Royal Holloway, University of London, Egham, Surrey TW20 0EX, UK 2 Department of Sciences, University of Basilicata, Potenza, Italy 3 Dipartimento di Scienze della Terra e Geoambientali, University of Bari, Bari, Italy Figure DR1. Geographical distribution of sampling areas for the biostratigraphic (red stars) and isotopic (yellow stars) analysis for the four studied depositional wedges Table DR1 Strontium isotope analyses from the Acerenza, La Guardia, Madonna di Pompei and Alvo Stream sections. The measured 87 Sr/ 86 Sr age were obtained using look up table (Howarth and McArthur, 1997; McArthur et al., 2006)
2 Figure DR3. Strontium isotope results versus calculated age. The black line represents the best fit age of the LOWESS fit to marine Sr isotope curve of McArthur et al., 2006 Figure DR2. Bio chronostratigraphic framework of the mixed deposits. Pliocene Pleistocene foraminifer biozones after Cita (1975) and Sprovieri (1992); Pliocene Pleistocene nannofossil biozones after Rio et al. (1990); ages of bioevents (1 5) are after Sprovieri et al. (1998)

4 Figure DR4. Outcrop expression of the facies associations recognised in the sequences. FA1: Gravel and sandstones organised to form a gravel lag above the basal hinged margin drowning unconformity (HDU). FA2: Medium to coarse grained bioturbated beds. Primary sedimentary structures are almost completely obliterate due to an intense and widespread bioturbation (Cruziana ichnofacies) staff length is 2m. FA3: Medium to verycoarse and granule sized well segregated siliciclastic and carbonate particles (s/c 1) forming 2D dunes and ripples. FA4: Coarse grained moderately segregated siliciclastic and carbonate particles (s/c = 1) forming 3D dunes. FA5: Very coarse mixed arenites and granules (s/c << 1) organized into plane parallel and swaley crossstrata. Figure DR5. Plots of the cross strata thickness datasets from Acerenza, La Guardia and Madonna di Pompei sections showing the tidal control during the deposition of the main FAs. The grey and yellow thickness bars indicate siliciclastic and bioclastic strata respectively. All the datasets (left column) have been detrended (central column) and analysed with a conventional power spectral technique (right column). The values in power spectral plots indicate cycles with the highest power density (period). Detailed explanation of the methodological approach used can be found in Longhitano (2011).
