4 Biostratigraphy We have a permanent team of highly skilled and experienced professionals, all with a wealth of experience in the fields of micropalaeontology (including thin-section micropalaeontology), nannopalaeontology and palynology. Wellsite Biostratigraphy RPS offers full wellsite biostratigraphic capabilities, providing micropalaeontology, nannopalaeontology and palynology at wellsite to deliver near real-time results to aid with placement of coring, casing and TD picks. Wellsite biostratigraphy can reduce drilling risks and uncertainty, provide near real-time stratigraphic positioning and be used to biosteer/geosteer as well as being used as a trajectory monitoring tool. Many of our biostratigraphers have been involved with offshore projects for over 20 years and, as a group, have completed in excess of 300 wellsite assignments. We have a large portfolio of completed wellsite campaigns, including deepwater arctic drilling to land based drilling rigs in the Middle East/North Africa.

5 Sedimentology and Reservoir Geology Our team of sedimentologists and reservoir geologists provide a wide range of services geared towards understanding stratigraphic development, structural issues, depositional models and controls on the preservation of reservoir quality at depth. Services range from core description, detailed trace fossil analysis and petrographic description, through to wireline log interpretation, image log interpretation and chemical stratigraphy. The team includes siliclastic and carbonate experts who have worked on rocks of all geological ages from the Cambrian to the recent. We have worked around the globe but have particular expertise in North West Europe, North Africa, East Africa and India. Chemical Stratigraphy Chemical stratigraphy is a method of reservoir characterisation and correlation involving the interpretation of inorganic geochemical data. It provides a powerful tool to enhance stratigraphic correlations and assess sediment provenance, particularly when allied with biostratigraphy and depositional modelling. Geological screening of the chemical stratigraphic data is a standard procedure, even for standalone chemical stratigraphy studies. The outcome is that all chemical stratigraphy projects have a geological context and are written by geologists. Used at the wellsite, chemical stratigraphy can aid in the placement of coring, casing and TD picks or provide a reliable back-up to conventional MWD Gamma Ray tools. rpsgroup.com/energy

6 Image Log Analysis Our Image log service provides important structural, sedimentological and geomechanical data for use in reservoir evaluation, including the recognition and orientation of structural domains/zones, palaeoslopes, bedding styles, sediment dispersal patterns and the contemporary in situ stress regime. ILA is performed by our in-house team of specialists using Terrastation II software. Our image analysts are experienced reservoir geologists committed to providing independent data QC, robust analysis and meaningful geological solutions. Organic Petrography A new addition to the Specialist Geology toolbox, organic petrographic analysis provides detailed characterization of organic matter in source rocks and source-rock reservoirs for exploration risk assessment. The quantification of organic macerals and integration with geochemical data allows for the identification of oil-prone versus gas-prone organic matter, vertical and lateral variability of organic richness (sweet-spot identification) and its association with the mineral matrix. Maturation assessment is accomplished through vitrinite reflectance and its proxies for integration to basin models and thermal histories. Site Investigation RPS has become increasingly involved in site investigation projects, applying our specialist skills of biostratigraphy and sedimentology to help establish seafloor dynamics, particularly where slope stability issues are a factor for consideration. We combine expertise in the disciplines of sedimentology, micropaleontology, palynology and calcareous nannofossil biostratigraphy to the study of box core and piston core data. C 14 dating of microfossils can be used to more accurately determine sedimentation rates. We can then achieve detailed and integrated sedimentological, biostratigraphic and facies/environmental controls on recent seafloor sedimentation.

7 Stable Isotope Stratigraphy RPS Energy provides carbon- and oxygen-isotope analyses of carbonate and organic-rich sequences, and fossil taxa. During the last two decades carbon isotope stratigraphy has been successfully applied for high resolution dating and correlation of carbonate dominated depositional systems and is being increasingly used in the Oil & Gas industry to strengthen the stratigraphic characterization of outcropping and subsurface intervals. Multi-client Reports RPS Energy specialises in multi-client geological datasets. This includes stratigraphic and reservoir quality datasets that extend from the Palaeozoic to the Cenozoic in age and provide a unified geological interpretation for selected basins worldwide. The reports are compiled by our team of in-house experts and incorporate biostratigraphy, sedimentology, ichnology, petrography and chemical stratigraphy, which are combined to produce an enhanced understanding of the reservoir quality and stratigraphic relationships within a particular basin area or stratigraphic horizon.
