6 1.0 Executive Summary: Le Baron Prospecting This is considered the "second pass" though these tenures owned by Kevin Root (FMC #205186) of Beaver Creek Prospecting over the Herkimer Diamond Project. Though not as extensive as the first report ( #295212), the work conducted consisted of reconnaissance geological mapping, gps plotting, rock chip sampling, photos of the area and detailed photos of Herkimer Diamonds. All work referenced is plotted on working maps included within this report. The work was conducted upon tenures # and # located within the Victoria Mining Division, from November 2007 sporadically to September 21, Note: This report is compiled from field notes and maps provided to Scott Phillips of Le Baron Prospecting from Kevin Root of Beaver Creek Prospecting. The reference to "I" in this report is notes and discussions with Kevin Root, they are quoting his words, but compiled by the author for this report 2.0 Regional and tenure geology and access: In general, the property is underlain by the rocks of the Vancouver Group of the Karmutsen Formation Volcanic Rock, which intern is overlain by limestone of the Quatsino Formation which in turn again are overlain by the sediments of the Parson's Bay Formation. The tenures host vast amounts of Kamutsen Volcanics (basalts) which are dark green to black. Locally the basalts are pillow like structures and amygdales are common throughout the tenures. The Quatsino Limestone is massive and dark grey, with calcite filled fractures and stringers. Exposures of mainly quartz diorite and lesser biotite hornblende occur throughout the area and are documented from the Middle to Upper Jurassic Era. Intrusive contacts with the Sicker and Nanaimo Group are characterized by transitional zones of gneissic rock which has flowed through the contacts with the Karmutsen Formation. Regional mapping (Muller -1980) shows the Mount Sicker, which is five kilometers north - west of these tenures of the Herkimer Diamond Project to be underlain by the north - west trending belt of the Sicker Group and is a documented major fault contact are with the Island Intrusive, Sicker and Nanaimo Group. The rock in this area is documented as some of the oldest rock known to date on Southern Vancouver Island. Mount Tzouhalem lies at the eastern end of the Cowichan Uplift, a major geological feature on Southern Vancouver Island. This area is underlain by pyroclastic, sedimentary and volcanic rock of the Paleozoic Sicker Group and the Upper Triassic Group with early Upper Cretaceous Sediments of the Nanaimo Group. Access to these tenures is along either Genoa Bay road, Duncan BC, or though many access roads to the top of Mount Tzouhalem through the subdivisions of Maple Bay, roads such as Kings View. 3

7 Le Baron Prospecting 3.0 Exploration overview: As mentioned in the prior report (ARIS # ) there is an on going hunt for the Herkimer Diamonds which were first discovered by the Cowichan Valley Rock hound Club in when a developer Mr. Warren Pauling (leading developer of The Cliffs), who first conducted some blasting on the mountain to make way for expanding a major home subdivision and golf course development. Eighty million year old quartz crystals were exposed during this blasting drawing rock hounds from far and wide to dig and scratch for the pockets of Herkimer Diamonds. To date, people have been excavating small areas of my tenures without my permission, yet I'm fruitless to stop these ("weekend prospector's) as I call them as I too do not want to be more confrontational to all users of this magnificent mountain. There are so many user groups from walkers to hikers, mountain bikers, sight seers, bird watchers and so forth, not to mention development. Many individuals do not recognize the undersurface rights in the Province of British Columbia, and the true fact that surface owner's title to property rarely includes what lies beneath the surface. The Government of British Columbia owns and may dispose of subsurface rights to most lands in the Province. Concurrently, the holder of the sub-surface mineral rights also has rights and obligations to the Province to find and develop mineral properties. It is a delicate balance involving all three parties, the tenure owner, the surface owner, and the government all must work together to reach agreements. Of note: Since , the development (The Cliffs) is in limbo, there are issues with the development of the subdivision and golf course. Work in the area is completely stopped except for some house development in the lowest most regions of the area. From media reports (times colonist says the development is over thirty million dollars in debt and climbing, lack of water for the golf course and the lower than projected housing market has put this development in receivership.) Prior exploration of the area identified three areas of interest these areas included a portion of the development on and near the golf course (site A) and two other areas near the summit of Mount Tzouhalem (site B and C). These areas were systematically explored and sampled yet from results I wanted to expand the exploration of (site B and C ). Site A This was the first site in which Herkimer Diamonds were first discovered by blasting and road building. This is the area in which a golf course and a planned 700 house development would occur. Land clearing and preparation have occurred yet to date nothing further has happened and the area is becoming a mecca for mountain bikers and motor cycle enthusiasts. SiteB This site was chosen in as the main focus of exploration due to the simple fact that I have discovered small pockets of Herkimer Diamonds were discovered. I conducted systematic plotting of grid lines and ribbons, tags and spray paint to identify pockets of diamonds. SiteC This site was explored again in due to the simple fact that this is a major geological structure, a shear cliff is the defining feature yet with the use of safety gear such as ropes and harnesses, four sites or pockets of very fine Herkimer Diamonds were discovered. 4

8 Le Baron Prospecting 4.0 Exploration overview: - continued. The three prior areas of interest (site A, B, C report # ARIS #295212) were reexamined and two of the areas (site B and newly expanding site C) which were identified and are the basis for this report. The exploration conducted this "second pass" is following up on some of the recommendations of report # ARIS , which involved a more detailed photographic documentation of exploration and detailed documentation of the Herkimer Diamonds. 11 5.0 Technical data Site A - Figure map D x Le Baron Prospecting See photos of geology This is the first site of Herkimer Diamonds were discovered. Blasting, road building, and site preparation, has exposed over 80 million years of geological information. A detailed "sweep" of the area was conducted over several days, mostly on weekends as not to interfere with development, pictures of Site A are included as [appendix C]. Refer to map listed as Appendix C. This area between Kings View road to the east and No Name road to the west is where development is taking place. Over 50 small rock chip samples and 30 nice "pockets" of Herkimer Diamonds have been discovered. Unfortunately most of the discoveries are in the golf course fairways. Site B - Figure map D This site was chosen as the main focus of this project. Several small "pockets" of Herkimer Diamonds have been discovered. A systematic was conducted [Refer to Figure map D for this working map.] Grid lines were run out in a north / south, then east / west. Every 50 metes a sample was taken and if the ground showed any sign of Herkimer a small hole was dug to expose the "pocket". The working map will reference five areas of interest. (Site B) - Survey line A, B, C to D Start: "A" GPS: x Mount Tzouhalem main line near the monument west 1042 meters on MTO grid line to GPS WPT "B" GPS x then north 465 meters to GPS WPT "C" at x then east 459 meters to GPS WPT "D" at x then travel south - east 468 meters to return to WPT "A" at GPS x End: "A" GPS: x Notes: This survey trail takes in the summit of Mount Tzouhalem. The area a favorite to all users from mountain bikers to hikers to photographers, this area has excellent exposures of outcropping of basalt and areas of alteration. Areas of interest (Figure map D - Site B) Site "1" - GPS x Basalt outcrop, next to spring fed swampy area, many moss samples taken and samples were classified at home and a few Herkimer diamonds were found in moss matt samples. Site "2" - GPS x Basalt outcrop, excellent exposure of bed rock, quartz vein structure, pocket of Herkimer diamonds found with 16 small diamonds recovered. Site "3" - GPS x An out cropping of sandstone and mudstone is located here; the area is distinct with layering of basalt nearby. No other mineralization was present Site "4" - GPS x An excellent pocket of Herkimer diamonds were found here, a total of 25 small crystals were found most of which were very clear. 6

12 5 f X Le Baron Prospecting 5.0 Technical data - continued Site C - See Figure map E. Several survey lines were run though this portion of the tenure. This is an area of great plate tectonics. A shear cliff is the defining feature, very steep, yet very interesting. Some ropes and a safety harness were used as a safety precaution when doing site specific work within the grids. Four sites of interest were plotted on the reference map Grid lines were laid out in a north / south, then east / west. Every 50 metes a sample was taken and if the ground showed any sign of Herkimer a small hole was dug to expose the "pocket". The working map will refer to four areas of interest. Survey line A to B. Start: GPS: x Genoa Bay Road, east 1239 meters to MTO GPS grid line End: GPS: x Notes - two Herkimer Pockets discovered, rock chip samples taken every 100 meters, photo of shear cliff face. Survey line C to D Start: GPS: x Genoa Bay Road south to Genoa Bay Road End: GPS: x Notes - survey line south though forest, large boulders from Mt. Tzouhalem. Survey line E, F to G Start: GPS: x Genoa Bay Road west 259 meters to MTO GPS grid line wpt F GPS x then south 895 metes to WPT "G" GPS x located on Genoa Bay Road. Notes: Elevated cliffs and outcropping of basalt formations, white quartz exposures in areas of alteration, evidence of massive plate tectonics, old growth timber, and a few exposures of Herkimer Diamonds. Overburden hiding most of the exposures of basalt of interest. Site "5" - GPS x Survey line A to B The area is heavily forested with very large boulders located within this area. This out crop is a distinct feature as a "knoll" the ground is fairly level and as one traverses west the terrain gradually becomes steeper. Site "6" - GPS x Basalt outcrop, excellent exposure of bed rock, quartz vein structure, pocket of Herkimer diamonds found with 16 small diamonds recovered. Site "7" - GPS x Survey line E, F to G Site 7 is a dry stream wash, with any rainfall this creek becomes a water source, at the time of exploration seven moss matt samples were obtained and all samples returned Herkimer crystals. Site "8" - GPS x An excellent geological feature is located here. Fault and folding is present in the formation of the structure, quartz veins and basalt pillow lava is present here, there is distinct shearing of the geological formation. 8

26 x Le Baron Prospecting 9.0 Summary Herkimer diamonds are not new, though this discovery is one of excitement within the rock hounding community, a priceless piece of quartz to some, yet a world of value to others. A local rock enthusiast and the tenure owner have had some excellent discussion on the formation of this mountain known locally as Mt Tzouhalem; they have a common bond in the discovery of these wonderful crystals. Some very nice Herkimer's of size have been extracted from this tenure by the owner and his friends, but with the abundance of local rock hounds, I'm sure a lot of Herkimer's have gone out unaccounted for. Moving forwards with the Herkimer Diamond Project, the only true fault of mine was not to conduct geochemical analysis of the many rock chip samples obtained, yet with basalt as the host rock and the known Parson Bay Formation and massive amounts of limestone, one needs not really to conduct such testing, although the geochemical makeup of the host rock may be necessary at some point, the target of this exploration is the discovery of the Herkimer diamonds and the fascination of finding a new pocket of the diamonds keeps me going Conformation of Event MT.online@gov.bc.ca Sem September 30, :31:38 AM o: breakl2@telus.net; scottphillips53@msn.com Event Number: Event Type: Exploration and Development Work / Expiry Date Change Work Type Code: B Required Work Amount: Total Work Amount: Total Amount Paid: PAC Name: Kroot PAC Debit: 0.00 Tenure Number: Tenure Type: M Tenure Subtype: C Claim Name: DIAMONDS ON THE CLIFFS Old Good To Date: 2008/sep/29 New Good To Date: 2009/sep/29 Tenure Required Work Amount: Tenure Submission Fee: Tenure Number Tenure Type: M Tenure Subtype: C Claim Name: DIAMONDS BELOW THE CLIFFS Old Good To Date: 2008/oct/06 New Good To Date: 2009/oct/06 Tenure Required Work Amount: Tenure Submission Fee: Your technical work report is due in 90 days as per Section 33 of the Mineral Tenure Act and Section 16 and Schedule A of the Mineral Tenure Act Regulation.
