-1- INTRODUCTION A ground magnetometer survey and a limited amount of ground electromagnetometer surveying were conducted on the Etta claims, Porcher Island area, B.C., on behalf of Hudson Bay Exploration and Development Company Ltd. The surveys were conducted during the periods April 27 - May, 1973, and Nay 17-26, 1973, by Glen E. White Geophysical Consulting and Services Ltd. PROPXRTY The location and arrangement of the Etta claims are shown in Pigure 1. The area of survey is also shown, and Etta 1 - covers wholly or partially the following claims: 8, 10, 13-18, 20, 22, 24, 27, 28, 37-52, 60 and 62. LOCATION AND ACCESS Porcher Island is located some 20 miles southwest of the city of Prince Rupert, B.C. The Etta claims are located on the northernmost tip of the island between Hunts Inlet and Humpback Bay. A number of logging roads traverse the island and extend onto the southern portion of the survey area. The property lies in the Skeena Mining Division at Latitude 54002" Longitude 13Oo25'V N.T.S. 93 J/1. Access to the island is by ferry or float equipped aircraf t. GEWRAL GEOLOGY The general geology of the northern section of Porcher Island where the Etta claims are situated, is discussed in G.S.C. paper "Prince Rupert and Skeena Map Area,, B.C.Il by W.W. Hutchison, 1967.

The island is underlain by northwesterly trending low grade metamorphic sediments and volcanics, thought to be of Late Palaeozoic or Early Mesozoic age, which have been intruded by "post - Xarly Cretaceous" age granodiorites and quartz diorites. The mineral claims are shown to be underlain by metavolcanics which form a syncline, the axis of which trends north - south through the claims. A small granodiorite stock is shown imnediately to the southeast of the claim group, A number of old copper, zinc and gold showings occur on the island. Hutchison, in his report, considered the low grade metamorphic greenstones and schists and the plutonic rocks that intrude them, favourable areas for mineral exploration. SURVEY SPECIPICAT IONS Survey Grid The survey grid was established by Hudson Bay Exploration and Development Company Ltd. and consisted of northwest - southeast directed traverse lines turned off at right angles from a northeast - southwest orientated baseline. Tie lines parallel to the baseline were established at 30W, 30E and 60E. In the northern section of the survey grid, from 20s northward, the lines were spaced 200 feet apart. Southward they were at 400 foot intervals. The lines were chained and flagged every 100 feet. Magnetometer readings were taken at 100 foot intervals for a total of 43.5 line miles, and the electromagnetorneter at 50 foot intervals for a total of 15.9 line miles. The Magnetometer Survey The magnetometer survey was conducted using a Scintrex MI?-1 fluxgate ugnetometer. This instrument measures the vertical component of the earth's magnetic field to an accuracy of 10 gammas. Corrections for diurnal variation were made by tying into previously established base stations at intervals not exceeding one and one half hours. Readings were taken at 100 foot intervals along the traverse lines.

The Xlectrornagnetometer Survey This survey was conducted using a Ronka EM-16 V.L.P, electromagnetometer. This instrument acts as a receiver only. It utilizes the primary electromagnetic fields generated by VLF marine communication stations. These stations operate at a frequency between KHZ, and have a vertical antenna-current resulting in a horizontal primary field. Thus, this V.L.F. - E.M. measures the dip-angle of the secondary field induced in a conductor. For maximum coupling, a transmitter station located in the same direction as the geological strike should be selected, since the direction of the horizontal electromagnetic field is perpendicular to the.direction of the transmitting station.. Readings were taken at 50 foot intervals and the data filtered in the field by the operator as described by D. C. Fraser, Geophysics Vol. 34, No. 6 (December 1969). The advantage of this method is that it removes the dc and attenuates long spatical wave lengths to increase resolution of local anomalies, and phase shifts the dip-angle data by 90 so that crossovers and inflections will be transformed into peaks to yield contourable quantities, DATA PRESENTATION The geophysical data accompanying thes report is at a scale of 1" = 400 feet as follows: Figure 2 - Vertical Magnetic Intensity, contoured at an interval of 400 gammas from 400 to 2800 gammas. Figure 3 - Filtered Dip Angle $, contoured at 10, 15, 20 and 25$ levels, DISCUSSION OF RESULTS The magnetic intensity showed moderate variations in the northern section of the survey grid where it reached a peak of 4660 gammas above a background of approximately 1000 gammas. Figure 2 illustrates the magnetic intensity data, Here it can be seen that the survey covers three

- 4 - large rectangular survey blocks which for facile reference can be referred to as the northern, central and southern survey area. On this basis, it is evident that there is a major magnetic discontinuity midway through the central survey area with higher magnetic values to the north and lower to the south. Examine the northern block and imagine a smoothed 800 gamma contour line. This contour line further defines a northern trexding band of high nagnetic intensity values in the northern block and segregates a wedge shaped area of high magnetic intensity values in the northeastern corner of the center survey area. Both the wedge and the band contain a number of high magnetic trends, values above 2000 gamnas, which zigzag their way northward in a northnortheast direction. These magnetic trends likely represent a metavolcanic unit or units of higher magnetic susceptibility which have been faulted and shifted. This is evident by the number of well defined northeast and northwest trending magnetic linears. The lower magnetic values to the south in the central and southern blocks vary around a background of some 500 gammas which would suggest that the area is possibly underlain by a metasediment. There is a slight increase in magnetic intensity between lines 90s and 100s. An electromagnetometer survey was conducted over the northern block, Figure 3 and located a number of northwest - southeast trending conductors. This type of electromagnetometer. survey is very sensitive to near surface conductivity changes such as faults, shear zones and viens of sulphide mineralization. Interesting responses were obtained on lines 20S, 8s and in several places along the conductor axis where moderately high dip-angle values were recorded. The regional geolo,v map shows the claim area to be underlain by metavolcanics. The rock units in the northern block are shown to be striking northnortheast and dipping some 25 degrees to the southsoutheast. To the east of the property the lithology is shown as trending more northerly with a dip of 55 degrees to the west. A synclinal axis is shown extending north - south, very close to the 0 baseline. Regional faulting is shown to be at various angles in a northwesterly direction.

- 5 - Correlation of the geophysical and geological data suggests that the magnetic band and wedge reflect a northerly striking lithologic unit. The high magnetic values in general likely relate to a volcanic sequence of higher magnetic susceptibility which, because of its shallow dip, the outcrop pattern and therefore magnetic patterns are dependent upon the local topography. Nevertheless, the magnetic trends show offsets and gradients due to northeast and northwest faulting. The electromgnetic conductors likely reflect major, possibly mineral bearing, northwesterly directed faults, which intersect the magnetic patterns. These faults are also orientated towards the transmitter at Jim Creek, Washington, U.S.A., and will thus give an optimum response. Plate 1 shows the magnetic and electromagnetic response along line 8N in profile form. Prom this it can be seen that the mapetic response is very sharp and is caused by a narrow, near surface band of high magnetic susceptibility material. The electromagnetic anomaly is a well defined response which yields a depth to source estimate of 60 feet. It is also associated with a small 200 gamma (above background) magnetic anomaly and occurs across two traverse lines. CONCLUSIONS During the latter part of April and in May, 1973, a program of ground magnetometer and electromagnetometer surveying was conducted over the Etta mineral claims, Porcher Island, B.C., on behalf of Hudson Bay Exploration and Development Company Ltd. The magnetometer survey delineated a broad band of high magnetic values which likely reflects a northerly striking series of metavolcanics. The high magnetic trends within this band may possibly be caused by a magnetite-rich or enriched bed, flow or dike which has been offset by northwest and northeast faults. The electromagnetometer data located a number of northwest trending conductors which may reflect fault zones. Two conductors, one on line 20s and the other on 8S, may also possibly be caused by graphite or sulphide mineralization.

, REC OMIEMDA T IONS It is considered that if mineralization of economic interest is associated with structure or magnetic minerals, the areas around 24N - low, 18N - 3W, 8N W and the zone in the northeast of the center area, particularly around 18s - 143, would be worthy of further exploration. 17 INTRODUCTION This report concerns the program of ground magnetometer and EM-16 Surveys on a grid on the sixty Etta claims which are situated near Hunt Inlet on Porcher Island, British Columbia. These claims are effectively owned by Yukonadian Mineral Explorations Ltd. and are currently held under option by Hudson Bay Exploration and Development Company Limited who conducted the surveys referred to in this report during the period April 19th to June loth, The grid work was carried out by Hudson Bay Exploration personnel and the geophysical survey was carried under contract by Glen E. White, Geophysical Consulting & Services Ltd. of Vancouver, British Columbia. The instrument operator for the EM-16 survey was provided by Hudson Bay Exploration Company Limited. On May 8th, 1973 an Application for Certificate of work was submitted for the 40 Etta claims in the Etta Group which were due to expire on May 9th, The submission of the report and maps which normally would accompany this application was deferred so that one report with maps would apply not only to the 40 claims in the Etta group but also to the remaining 20 Etta claims on which application for assessment work is being submitted. The program on the Etta claims has been supervised by E.W. under the direction of R.A. Exploration and Development Company Limited. SUMMARY and CONCLUSIONS Yarrow Freberg, both on the geological staff of Hudson Bay The exploration program on the Etta claims during the period April 19th to June loth, 1973 consisted of setting up a camp on Hunt Inlet, establishing a grid for survey control and conducting ground magnetometer and EM-16 surveys on this grid. The overall program was not completed by June 10th but will be carried out to completion by the end of June. Many of the claim posts were located with some difficulty and adverse working conditions with loss of time resulted due to unusually prolonged period of rainfall and frequent high wind.

- 2 - to June loth, The following is a review of progress during the period April 19th - Grid Surveys Base Line Section Line Magnetometer EM-16 Etta Group Etta Group "A" Etta Group "B" Total - line miles It will be noted that a nominal amount of the above line miles of surveys lies outside the three claim groups. The initial program, particularly on the Etta Group was based on reported location of the claims but subsequent work established that these claims varied in location. However it is apparent the results of the surveys outside but in the near vicinity of the claim groups provides useful information in evaluating the potential merits of the claims. On May 8th, 1973 an Application for Certificate of Work was submitted for the 40 claims of the Etta Group (see list of claims in Attachments). In the application it was reported that 4.9 line miles of base line, 27 line miles of section line, 27 line miles of magnetometer survey and 6 line miles of EM-16 survey was completed from April 19th to May 8th, The balance of the surveys reported in the above review was carried out after May 8th, The geophysical surveys has provided a number of anomalous areas on the property which will be further investigated in 1973.

-3- MINERAL CLAIMS Yukonadian Mineral Explorations Limited hold effective ownership on the 60 Etta claims as listed in the attached list of claims. The 40 claims in the Etta Group have been held by Yukonadian Mineral Explorations Limited since The remaining 20 claims included in Etta Group "A" and Etta Group "Bl' were recorded by Mr. J.B.L. Robertson on June 19th, 1972 and were transferred by Bill of Sale to Yukonadian Mineral Explorations Limited on June 6th, The Bill of Sale was recorded on June 12th) Since the work done on Etta Group "A" and Etta Group "B" was completed prior to June 6th) 1973 the application for assessment work will be made in the name of Mr. J.B.L. Robertson. The 60 Etta claims are currently held under option by Hudson Bay Exploration and Development Company Limited. LOCATION AND ACCESS The Etta claims are in the Skeena Mining Division and for the main part are situated immediately to the east of Hunt Inlet at the north end of Porcher Island, British Columbia. Access to the property is primarily by float plane or by boat available from Prince Rupert which is 20 miles north-east of Hunt Inlet. A number of old logging roads extend from Hunt Inlet across the southerly portion of the property. As there are currently no vehicles in the area these roads have not been used during the program in question. TOPOGRAPHY AND SURFACE FEATURES The claim area is generally low lying. Elevations range from near sea level to about 200 feet above sea level over most of the claims. The claims in Etta Group "B" lie on the west flank of a ridge and elevations range up to about 800 feet above sea level on these claims. Traversing the claims is often arduous due to dense undergrowth) deadfall and occasional swamps and steep banks in many of the stream channels. The claims are covered by tree growth which is variable in density and size and generally of little apparent commercial value other than at higher elevations where some logging has been carried out. There are no logging operations on Porcher Island at this time.

P GENERAL GEOLOGY The general geology of the claim area is presented in Paper 66-33, Prince Rupert - Skeena Map Area. The Etta claims are for the most part underlain by metamorphosed volcanics and sediments of Triassic age. They are schisted and brecciated and locally are gently dipping. A complex of dykes and sills are reported and on the Etta Group l'b'' the sediments and volcanics are in contact with a granodiorite intrusive. A number of minor occurrences of chalcopyrite and sphalerite with magnetite and pyrrhotite have been located in narrow fracture-shear zones on the property. Two of these occurrences have been exposed in short adits and in recent years a number of shallow pits have been excavated on similar mineralization. Detailed geological mapping will be carried out on the Etta claims and despite relatively sparse rock exposure will add appreciably to the limited geological information on the property at this time. GRID SURVEY The grid on the Etta claims consists of a total of 8.7 line miles of base lines and 51.1 line miles of section lines which are distributed on the claim groups as follows: Base Line Section Line Etta Group Etta Group "A" E t ta Group "Bl' miles 51.1 The base lines are at 3000 foot intervals and were established by carefully extending a chained picket line on an initial compass bearing of N20 E. Stations were pegged at 200' intervals. The intervals between base lines were obtained by chained picket line normal to the base lines.

- 5 - The section lines were established by chain and compass at 200 foot and 400 foot intervals. They are marked by flagging and a minimal amount of blazing. Stations are pegged at 200 foot intervals. Deviations in direction are noted at the end of each section line and applied in locating the line on the maps for plotting survey data. MAGNETOMETER SURVEY The ground magnetometer survey was carried out under contract by Glen E. White, Geophysical Consulting & Services Ltd. of Richmond, B.C. Survey coverage of the three claim groups is as follows: Etta Group 33.1 line miles I1 Etta Group "A" 8.9 Et ta Group "B" Total 43.5 line miles Results of this survey are described in the attached report with maps and certain anomalous areas will be further investigated. E.M.-16 SURVEY A total of 15.9 miles of Ronka EM-16 survey has been completed on the Etta Group and additional surveys will be made on the balance of the property in The results of this survey are described in Mr. G.E. White's report. Certain anomalous areas will be further investigated. DISCUSSION During the period April 19th to June loth, 1973 the program of establishing a grid and the geophysical surveys on the Etta claims has provided preliminary information as part of an overall detailed investigation of the property which will be conducted in Such investigations will also include detailed geological mapping, trenching where warranted and diamond drilling as warranted.
