Achieving this objective would involve the demonstration and scaling up of landscape conservation approaches. This would specifically involve tools and techniques improvements, and knowledge and capacity building tosupport multi-stakeholder partnerships to mainstream biodiversity conservation. It would also involve improving rural livelihoods, enhancing learning, and replicating successful participatory conservation models at the landscape scale. Budget allocations are significantly lower than required and funds are not released in time. The progress with respect to microplan preparation at the Little Runn of Katchchh is good with almost 75 microplans now ready. However, progress with respect to implementing the investments identified in microplan is slow due to lack of sufficient funds. The progress at Askot Wildlife Sanctuary continues to be a matter of concern. Inclusion of two new landscape sites is now on track with indicative investment plans being readied. The project should now start measuring and reporting on the key indicators. Allocation of adequate budgetary resources and timely releases of funds to the Implementing Agencies are now critical to improve project performance.
