2 Implementation Status and Key Decisions The project is supporting the solar home systems (SHS) for increasing access to electricity in remote rural areas where grid electrificty is difficult or expensive to each. The project is also supporting renewable energy based mini-grid options for access to electricity, replacement of diesel pumps with solar irrigation pumps, and dissemination of efficient cook stoves and biogas plants for cooking. In addition to IDA credit, the project is receiving grant support from the Bangladesh Climate Resilience Funds (BCCRF) (for solar irrigation), US Agency for International Development (USAID), and multi-donor trust fund Global Partnership for Output Based Aid (GPOBA). The SHS sales had dropped as the grid connections are increasing rapidly. A mid-term review has recently concluded that the project targetes are likely to be met by the project closing in December 2018 despite the slow-down in SHS sales.
