2 Implementation Status and Key Decisions The project became effective on 27th August, No direct activities with benefits for target beneficiaries have yet begun but good progress has been made in a number of areas. Recruitment of the project staff completed, agribusiness investment guidelines for deployment of the project credit line approved by the Ministry of Finance, due diligence assessment of banks interested to participate in the projects completed, bidding documents for procurement of serosurvey equipment prepared, training on vaccination techniques and procurement of reagents for the first serosruvey are well underway, terms of references for a number of consultancy assignments have been drafted and submitted for approval. The project aims to achieve the following result: increase in marketed output in at least 60 percent of the targeted value chain and agribusinesses funded under the project grant facility and credit line. Since implementation started only recently, it is too early to report on progress.
