(Ardaman) has completed the subsurface soil exploration program for the subject project. The purpose of this program was to evaluate the general subsurface conditions at the site. This report documents our findings and conclusions. It has been prepared for the exclusive use of EG Solutions, Inc. for specific application to the subject project in accordance with generally accepted geotechnical engineering practices. No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made. SCOPE The scope of our services was limited to the following items:. Conducting nine Piezo-Cone Penetrometer Test (CPT) soundings to determine the nature and condition of the subsurface soils, and collecting two bulk samples representing soils in the upper feet.. Performing Modified Proctors and CBR tests on the bulk samples obtained.. Preparing this report to document the results of our field exploration and laboratory testing programs. 4 Report of Subsurface Soil Exploration for -NOV-- Naples Municipal Airport: Taxiway D Realignment Project Project No. -- Naples, Collier Co., FL Page No. SITE LOCATION AND PROJECT DESCRIPTION The subject site is the Naples Municipal Airport located at Aviation Drive North in Naples, Collier County, Florida. A Site Location Map is presented as Figure. The Collier County Property Appraiser identifies the Lot by Parcel ID No.. We understand that the proposed taxiway realignment project includes approximately, feet of new taxiway parallel to Runway /. The proposed taxiway area was accessible to our CPT rig. Note that sounding CPT- was canceled by EG Solutions, Inc. field rep on the day of the fieldwork. FIELD EXPLORATION PROGRAM The soil test locations and depths were directed by our client. CPT sounding locations were staked by others. The approximate test locations are shown on the Test Location Plan (Figure ) attached to this report, and they were provided to Ardaman by EG Solutions, Inc. It is important to note that ground surface elevations at the boring locations were neither furnished nor determined. Ten Piezo-Cone Penetrometer Test (CPT) soundings, were originally proposed for the project; however, CPT sounding C- was not performed. Nine CPT soundings were performed within the proposed taxiway to evaluate the stratification and engineering properties of the subsurface soils. Cone exploration techniques were selected in order to improve the quality and continuity of data for evaluation of subsurface conditions. CPT soundings do not obtain soil samples, nor are they able to penetrate very hard soils such as rock. The CPT soundings ranged from about to feet below the existing ground surface (bgs). CPT testing was performed in general accordance with the procedures outlined in ASTM Standard D-. The CPT sounding logs are attached to this report. In addition, the general procedures for performing the CPT penetrations are summarized in the Appendix of this report. GENERAL SUBSURFACE CONDITIONS The delineation of the vertical extent of individual soil strata, the identification of pertinent soil engineering properties, where applicable, and a description of each geologic layer discovered in the course of this geotechnical study is given on the CPT Sounding Profiles attached to this report. The profiles were prepared by a geotechnical engineer based upon the data obtained at each CPT location. While the penetrations are Ardaman & Associates, Inc.

5 Report of Subsurface Soil Exploration for -NOV-- Naples Municipal Airport: Taxiway D Realignment Project Project No. -- Naples, Collier Co., FL Page No. representative of subsurface conditions at their respective locations and vertical reaches, local variations which are characteristic of the subsurface materials of the region, or which may be due to man-made alteration of the native geologic conditions, may be encountered. The CPT soundings encountered predominantly sandy soil layers, mixed with possible silty and/or clayey soils from the ground surface to the sounding termination depths at about. to feet below the ground surface (bgs). Cemented soils were indicated at CPT soundings at about. to feet bgs in all the soundings except for C- and C-. This could be a caprock formation. C- appears to have encountered this material at about feet, then broken through to very loose/soft sand or clay material. The tip resistance values generally indicated the upper soils to be very loose. Soil density increased with depth, typically reaching a tip resistance (qt) value of tsf or more at a depth ranging from about to feet deep. Groundwater levels were taken after CPT completion. The measured borehole water levels ranged from about. to. feet below the existing ground surface at the time of the field exploration. However, groundwater levels were not measured at C- and C- due to cave in within the CPT borehole. These groundwater level readings may differ from the actual stable groundwater table due to variations in the permeability of soil layers. The degree of accuracy of the reported groundwater levels are also related to the time allowed for the borehole water level to come to equilibrium. It should be noted that fluctuations in the groundwater level may occur due to variations in rainfall and other environmental or physical factors at the time measurements are made. LABORATORY TESTING PROGRAM Sieve Analysis, Modified Proctor and CBR tests were performed on both of the select bulk soil samples representing the upper feet of the surficial soils within the project study area. The locations of the sampling points were obtained at sounding locations CPT- and CPT-. Modified Proctor was performed in accordance with ASTM D-. CBR Tests were performed in accordance with ASTM D-. Soil classification is in general accordance with the Unified Soil Classification System (ASTM D-). Summary of the CBR test results are present below in the following table. The results of the sieve analysis and modified Proctors are presented in the Appendix. Ardaman & Associates, Inc.

The delineation between soil types shown on the profiles are approximate and the description represent our interpretation of subsurface conditions at the designated location and on the particular date drilled.
