3 I INTRODUCTION During the period from September 18, 1995 through to October 14, 1995 a five (5) hole diamond drill program totaling 1014 metres (3327 feet) was completed on five (5) separate properties on the Little-Duff Project in the Porcupine Mining Division northeast of Timmins, Ontario. The properties held under option by Phelps Dodge Corporation of Canada Limited and are located in the townships of Duff, Little/Tully, and Mann, and are numbered LD - 5, LD - 6, LD - 7, LD - 11/19, and LD The purpose of the drill program was to test a number of selected horizontal loop electromagnetic (H.L.E.M.) and transient domain electromagnetic (T.E.M.) conductors identified from ground surveys previously carried out by Phelps Dodge during a winter linecutting and geophysical program from November 1994 to April Dave Gamble, of Dave Gamble Geoservices Inc. managed and supervised the drilling project, and this report describes the results obtained from this drill program.

4 II LOCATION AND ACCESS The project area is located approximately 40 km north-northeast of Timmins, Ontario, N.T.S. 42A/14, in the District of Cochrane, Porcupine Mining Division (Figure 1). The general project area can be reached using forest access roads that lead from two Provincial Highways numbered Hwy 11, and Hwy 101. A more detailed location map (Figure 2) shows the location of the grids within the project area. Three properties located in Duff Township LD - 5, LD - 6, and LD - 7, and one property located in Mann Township LD -15 are road accessible from Cochrane, Ontario. Road access is gained by proceeding southwest of Cochrane on the Con 11/111 Lamarche Township road that leads from Hwy #11 to the municipal garbage dump in Fournier Township. Continue south beyond the dump and follow the forest management access road that leads south through both Fournier and Reaume Townships and into the east central part of Duff Township. The forest management access road in Duff Township leads along the east side of Crawfish Lake and lies approximately 500m from the east end of LD - 5 grid area. An old logging road/trail leads onto the property around the north end of Crawfish Lake providing further access. The Duff Township forest management access road continues southward from LD - 5 and passes through the west edge of the LD - 6 grid area. This road continues southward and also crosses the northeast part of the LD - 7 grid area. Several old logging roads (now ATV accessible) provide further access onto the properties LD - 6 and -7. Another logging road (now ATV accessible) leading easterly and then southerly from the Duff Township forest management access road near the north end of LD -6 grid area provides access to LD - 15 grid area in Mann Township. Old logging activity in this area also provides further access onto the LD -15 grid. The LD -11/19 property located mostly in Little Township and a small part in Tully Township is road accessible by proceeding east from Timmins, Ontario along Hwy 101 to Hwy 610 that leads north just east of

9 IV REGIONAL GEOLOGY The regional geological setting of the Little Duff Project area is within the western portion of the Archean Abitibi greenstone belt. A major calcalkaline belt of felsic volcanics lying to the north of the Porcupine-Destor fault are known as the Kidd-Munro and Duff-Coulson-Rand rhyolite assemblages. These felsic volcanic assemblages have been complexly folded into regional syn and anticlinal structures. In addition several regional north-northwest trending faults transect the area. Mineralization within or proximal to the Kidd Creek rhyolite assemblage, and along regional north - northwest rending fault structures, is well known at the Kidd Creek Mine some 24 kilometres to the southwest. Flanking these felsic assemblages to the north and south are mafic, ultramafic and sedimentary rocks. Deep overburden has presented a challenge to exploration in the region as a whole. The lack of adequate bedrock exposure due to the heavy overburden in this part of the west Abitibi greenstone belt, has provided the potential for deposit hideability. The commodities and type of deposits sought for on the Little Duff properties are volcanogenic polymetallic massive sulphide mineralization (Cu-Zn-Au-Ag) and/or structurally related gold mineralization. O.G.S. maps 2484 and 2205 are the best available public compilations of regional geology of the area. V PROPERTY GEOLOGY Bedrock exposures in the immediate area of the properties LD - 5, LD - 6, LD - 7, LD - 11/19 are unknown. A small cluster of outcrops identified as andesite-basalt flows are indicated on OGS Map No P at the junction of Tully, Little, Duff and Mann Townships at the southwest corner of property LD Overburden cover appears to be substantial over most of the area near the remaining Little Duff Project properties.

10 VI PREVIOUS WORK Geological interpretation also relies heavily on previous drill hole and geophysical information in the area. The properties have no known recorded drill hole information in areas where the current drilling was undertaken. On the LD - 11/19 claims three drill holes were drilled by Massval Mines in 1964 as reported in Assessment Report T-867. The holes are reported to be located some 1200 metres north of the current drilling of DDH 240 -l and to the north of Lecce Lake. The logs from the old drill holes #2, #3, and #4, reported 228, 244, 194 feet of overburden with total depths of 502, 409, and 459 feet respectively. The three holes are reported to have been entirely in rhyolite agglomeratic sequences with pyrite and sercitic alteration in hole #2. Based on this sparse knowledge the property is likely to be underlain by mafic and/or felsic volcanics, and sediments. Drill holes within the region have returned various volcanic rock types including ultramafics, dacite to rhyolite sequences, and metasediments. Two airborne geophysical surveys were utilized that cover the project area; a 1984 helicopter-borne INPUT MarkVI EM and MAG survey and a 1988 fixed-wing GEOTEM EM and MAG survey. Reported work includes the following; in 1977 Shell Resources Canada conducted a ground magnetic survey over parts of LD - 7; in 1984/85 Selco Division of BP Resources Canada Limited conducted ground magnetic and electromagnetic surveys over parts of LD - 5, LD - 6, LD - 7, LD - 11/19, and LD - 15; and in 1994/95 Phelps Dodge Corporation Canada Limited conducted ground magnetic and electromagnetic surveys over all Little Duff Project grids.

11 8 VII DRILL PROGRAM 1995 During the period from September 18, 1995 through to October 14, 1995, a diamond drill program consisting of five holes totaling 1014 metres (3327 feet) was completed for the purpose of testing horizontal loop electromagnetic HLEM and transient domain electromagnetic TEM conductors. The drilling was contracted out to Bradley Bros. Limited from their Timmins, Ontario operation. The drill statistics and results obtained from this drilling program are listed in Table IV. 12 VIII DISCUSSION OF DRILL RESULTS Accompanying this report are the following; five (5) detail diamond drill hole logs (in Appendix A); diamond drill hole sections for each hole Figs 3-8 (in text) that illustrate the drill hole geology, conductor axis and source; and gold assay Swastika Lab report (in Appendix B), and XRAL Lab whole rock analytical report (in Appendix C). A total of 35 core samples numbered were split and submitted to Swastika Laboratories for assaying for gold. All assay results are entered on the diamond drill hole logs. In addition a total of 17 core samples numbered were also split and submitted to XRAL Laboratories for whole rock determinations. The sample numbers are also entered on the diamond drill logs. DDH 240-1: After 58.6 metres of overburden the hole intersected a sequence intermediate dacite tuff and breccia volcaniclastics with an andesite flow or dyke near the top of the hole. Thinly bedded, black carbonaceous (stongly graphitic and conductive) sedimentary intervals were intersected at metres down the hole. Thirty (30) samples were split from this hole and assayed for gold. The assay results were insignificant ranging from a low of nil to a high of 185 ppb Au. DDH : After 64.0 metres of overburden the hole intersected a sequence of mafic to intermediate volcanics consisting of andesitic flows, volcaniclastic breccias, intruded by several mafic and andesitic feldspar porphyritic dykes. A 1.0 metre ground or open seam was intersected at metres and may represent the conductor source. One (1) sample was split and assayed yielding only an insignificant result of 3 ppb gold. DDH 240-3: After 83.0 metres of overburden the hole encountered a short interval of andesite pillowed flow with inter-pillow sedimentary infilling indicating from graded bedding that tops are probably downhole. From metres to the end of the hole at 200 metres a sequence of andesite - dacite volcaniclastic breccia containing yellow felsic fragments

18 10 gouge most likely represents the conductor. One (1) sample was split and returned an insignificant assay of nil ppb Au. DDH 240-4: After m of overburden the hole intersected a mafic volcanic andesitic breccia unit that is extensively fractured, faulted and limonitic from 108 to 132 metres. An 2.0 metre open seam was also encountered from 117 to 119 metres. This fault zone represents the conductor in this hole. No samples for gold assay were submitted from this hole. DDH 240-5: After 85.0 metres of overburden the hole encountered a sequence of andesite flow and volcaniclastic breccia with some grey and yellow felsic looking fragments. This sequence is cut by several narrow mafic andesitic dykes and one such dyke intersected at to metres is hematized and contains 2 07o finely disseminated pyrite. It is suggested that where this altered part of the dyke subcrops a muddy weathered profile may exist and this being the source of the conductor. Three samples were split and assayed for gold returning insignificant values ranging from a low of 7 ppb to a high of 158 ppb Au. WHOLE ROCK ANALYSIS A total of 17 core samples were submitted to XRAL Lab for whole rock determinations. The raw data XRAL Lab report is found in Appendix C and a brief description of each sample is listed in Table V. The results show a lack of any major hydrothermal alteration as reflected in the Ishikawa Alteration Index that ranges from a low of to a high of (see Table V). The Zr/Y ratios of 6.4 to 10.5 corresponds to volcanic rocks with a calcalkaline affinity (see Table V). The Jensen cation plots for samples taken from each hole are illustrated in Fig. 8, Jensen Cation Plot Graph l. The results show a cluster of 8 samples lying in the High magnesium tholeiitic basalt field and a scatter of 9 samples lying in the calc-alkalic field from basalt to rhyolite in composition.

The volcaniclastic breccia samples containing a felsic breccia clastic component with varying sericite concentrations returned a chemical affinity in the calc-alkalic field. The end member represented in sample # 9615, a carefully segregated yellow rhyolite breccia clast returned a chemical affinity signature of a calc-alkalic rhyolite. The volcanic regime, especially in the areas of the mafic flows and mafic fragmentals, appears to be predominantly in the high magnesium tholeiitic basalt field. However, as the felsic volcanic coarse fragmental component is

22 12 increased and apparently mixed into the tholeiitic andesite-basalt finer tuffaceous matrix, there is a noticeable shift from the high magnesium tholeiitic basalt field into the calc-alkaline field from basalt to rhyolite in composition. This apparent mixing of the two distinct chemical affinities, i.e. high magnesium tholeiitic and calc-alkalic populations, suggests the volcanic material is possibly derived either from two separate volcanic sources and/or possibly from a single evolving volcanic center. In either event, the existence of the calc-alkalic rhyolite breccia clasts is significant in that it clearly identifies a felsic volcanic component is present in the volcanic section. The potential for further development and thickening of a felsic calc-alkalic volcanic assemblage with a probable source nearby should not be underestimated

24 14 IX CONCLUSIONS The 1014 metre drill program identified the target source of the H.L.E.M. and T.E.M. conductors in five holes tested. In all cases the anomaly source was interpreted to have been intersected and the cause of the conductors is attributed to carbonaceous fine grained sedimentary strata in DDK l, and to fault zones in DDK 240-2, -3, -4 and -5. All holes encountered moderate to deep overburden from a minimum downhole length of 58.6 metres in DDK l to a maximum of 108 metres in DDK No significant gold or silver values were detected in any of the samples submitted. X RECOMMENDATIONS From the 1995 drill program the prime geophysical H.L.E.M and T.E.M. targets indicated to date on Little Duff properties LD - 5, - 6, - 7, - 11/19, and -15 have been tested and the anomalous sources adequately explained. No further work is warranted on the tested conductive horizons at this time. Respectively submitted Dave Gamble Dave Gamble Geoservices Inc
