Mafic Volcanics A dark grey green fine grained chlorite (quartz) -f eldspar^-biotite. rich volcanic with occasional medium to medium-coarse grained layers (up to 2" wide J of feldspar-rich gabbroic rock! Numerous barren quartz- carbonate stringers throughout mafic sections. Variable chlorite and biotite content. Chlorite occurs as interstial fibrous material between shiny brown-black flakes of biotite, with interstial clear quartz and feldspar grains. Pyrite mineralization is weakly disseminated throughout, up to 0. %. Minor pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite mineralization occurs in the gabbroic layers as blebs. Core angles are 0* to the core 68*'. Occasional medium graine I feldspar- rich gabbroic layers. Very fine quartz- carbonate stringers show of f -sets (to V") weakly mineralized gabbro-mafic breccia W-ll 2** Very finely disseminated pyrrhotite mineralization (less than G.%) to stringers of pyrrhotite (3 - %) near the lower contact ( ). Slightly schistose banding -at 3-4* to core 13.0 feet. Evidence of slumping with core angles of Minor pyrite on slips and chalcopyrite specks and pyrrhotite in occasional gabbroic sections. Throughout section biotite-rich schist gives rock a banded w-l 'Y,PO 2% appearance. Magnetic pyrrhotite section? starts at 13* and is weakly magnetic to W- 2 W-3 PY,PO 3 s*?y,po % s Banded Intermediate Tuff A banded rock with layers of mafic to felsic composition \ R with conformable stringers of pyrite-pyrrhotite mineralization and disseminated sulphides throughout i (O - goc the banding is generally V to V wide with some sections predominantly felsic and others with variable mafic bands and

Fairly uniform throughout section. o Fracturing at low angles to the core axis (10-30 ) and 4* i 10* to the core axis. Occasional specks of chalcopyrite and pyrite on some fractures and calcium carbonate on others Banded Sedimentary Tuff A well banded tuffaceous sediment with fine grained to meduim grained bands of variable composition. The composition of the fine grained bands which are predominant is quartz, biotite and feldspar. The medium grained bands contain more quartz grains Breccia Zone S I o Contact breccia zone between sediments and iron formation.
