26 Proposal To address the problem of inadequate sea surface winds and keeping the objective of failure free and accurate monitoring of severe weather events, it is proposed to develop a mosaicking of sea surface winds derived from various polar orbiting satellites. (Oceansat 2, ASCAT & HY 2A)

27 Mosaicking of sea surface winds of Oceansat-II, ASCAT and HY-2A satellites. OSCAT Data ASCAT Data HY 2A Data 17:22 UTC, 09 Oct :44 UTC, 09 Nov Aug 2012

28 Methodology/Implementation 1. Identification of sources and their consent to share the data. 2. Collection of the data. 3. Standardisation of the format. 4. Quality analysis 5. Development of software. 6. Development of Mosaic. 7. Validation. 8. Real time implementation through creation of website.

29 Time schedule Total Time:3 years 1 st Year: Identification of sources and collection of data 2 nd year: Quality analysis, development of software & mosaic 3 rd year: Validation, real time implementation & preparation of report.
