5 SUMMARY The 216 exploration program in the Port McNeill Rock Project was conducted over a 4 day period from March 2-5, 216 and consisted detailed surface geological mapping. Work was conducted over a broad 1m outcrop ridge in the centre of Claim primarily exposed along logging roads. Outcrop consists of massive dark green Upper Triassic Karmutsen Fm. Massive to amygdaloidal basic volcanic rocks. Map Figure 2-3. Mapping has indicated competent volcanic rocks are present along the entire ridge. The area is easily accessed by branches of the Cabin Main logging road branching off the West Main logging located 5 kilometres west and 2 kilometres south of Port McNeill. It is an area of moderate relief from 22 to 3 metres elevation. 1-INFRASTRUCTURE Port McNeill is located 35 kilometers northwest of Vancouver, British Columbia at Latitude 5 degrees 3 seconds and longitude 126 degrees 17 seconds, NTS Map 92 L55.(Figure 1-2). Port McNeill is a forest-based town with a population of 3,. The town has a good supply of skilled industrial workers. Two logging companies Western Forest Products and Island Timberlands provide the majority of employment in the area. Fishing and tourism are the other main industry employers. Access is via ferry from Vancouver to Nanaimo and a 3.5 hour drive north on Island Highway# 19. Daily scheduled air flights by Pacific Coastal Airlines are available from Vancouver to Port Hardy, which is located 4 kilometers northwest of Port McNeill. Port Hardy has a population of 5,. Charter aircraft and helicopters are located both at Port McNeill and Port Hardy. A network of private logging roads maintained by Weyerhaeuser and Western Forest Products provide excellent access to the project area. The area has been extensively logged over the last 1 years. Northern Vancouver Island has a typical, west coast marine climate, which brings cool, moist weather to the area for most of the year. Annual rainfall ranges from 375 mm. to 5 mm. Temperature variations are moderate with an average annual temperature of 8 degrees Celsius (46 degrees Fahrenheit). The summer months, May through September, are considerably drier than the winter. Temperatures average 17.4 degrees Celsius (63 degrees Fahrenheit) in July and August, with hot, sunny days and some cooler days as well. Rarely does the temperature fall below degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit) in the winter. 1
6 2-LOCATION AND ACCESS Map Figure 1-2 The project is located 9 kilometres south west of Port McNeill. Access is via Island Highway 19 for 3 km west of the Port McNeill turnoff to the West Main logging road, then south 1 kilometre to the Cabin Main logging road and 4 kilometres southeast to a spur road leading south onto the claim area. Accommodation and services are located in Port McNeill. 3-CLAIM DATA Map 2 The PORT MCNEILL ROCK mineral claim title Number is with Issue Date 215jun3 and comprises an area of hectares and is registered to GARY DALE NORDIN. 4-PHYSIOGRAPHY Northern Vancouver Island consists of three major physiographic units: the Nahwitti Lowland, the Susquash Basin and the Vancouver Island Mountains (Figure 6). The Nahwitti Plateau and the Susquash Basin are the main physiographic units in the proposed exploration area with the Vancouver Island Mountains located immediately to the south. The Nahwitti Plateau dominates the northern tip of Vancouver Island, principally to the west of the coastal exploration area. It is characterized by low relief and a smoothed upland, remnants of a dissected Tertiary erosional surface, which slopes northward towards Cape Scott. The Susquash Basin is a triangular shaped area along the eastern margin of the Nahwitti Lowland extending between Port Hardy and Port McNeill and it constitutes the bulk of the study area. It is characterized by gentle rolling to level topography below 3 meters elevation with scattered uplands or hillocks. The lowlands are underlain by gently dipping Cretaceous age sedimentary rocks of the Nanaimo Group with the hillocks made up of Triassic age sediments volcanics of the Vancouver Group. Erosion and glaciation of the soft Cretaceous sediments in the basin has produced the lowland topography. 5-EXPLORATION PROGRAM Consisted of a 4 day mapping program March 2-5, 216. Work was principally along a 1 metre elevated outcrop ridge in the centre of the mineral claim

Howes, Terrain Inventory and Geological Hazards: Northern Vancouver Island (Appendix 2). Regional Bedrock Geology of the Port McNeill Area is described in detail by BC Geological Survey Geoscience Map 26-2 Geology of Quatsino-Port McNeill Area, Northern Vancouver Island- NTS 92 L 11,11E by G.T.Nixon, J.L Hammack, V.M. Koyangi, G.J. Payle, J.W. Haggart, M.J. Orchard, T.Tozer, D.A Archibald, R.M.Friedman, J.Palfy and F.Cordy. 7.2-Bedrock Geology Bedrock geology of the Port McNeill area is shown on Map Figure 3. The area is complex consisting of Mesozoic age volcanic and sedimentary rocks of the Karmutsen and Quatsino Formations that have been intruded by Jurassic age granites and overlain by coeval extensive volcanic rocks of the Bonanza Formation and sediments of the Cretaceous Nanaimo Group and Quaternary fluvial sediments. The Black Bear Project area is underlain exclusively by Upper Triassic age Karmutsen Formation basic tholeiitic submarine basalts which are conformably overlain by Quatsino limestones to the north of the mineral claim and are in fault contact with Upper Cretaceous Nanaimo group sandstones. The Nanaimo sediments are in turn overlain by Quaternary sand and gravel deposits. 6.3-Surficial Geology The bedrock has been extensively modified by glaciers during the Pleistocene period. In general most of the surficial material shown on the maps are related to the most recent glacial episode, the Fraser Glaciation, which occurred 9, to 25, years ago. During the maximum extent of the Fraser glaciation about 15, years ago, ice from the Coast Mountains on the mainland overrode the east coast of Vancouver Island in a northwesterly direction across the then ice-free Nahwitti lowlands in the Port Hardy- Port McNeill area. The glaciers began receding 13, years ago with the uplands and mountain peaks emerging first. Vast amounts of melt waters flowed from the decaying ice masses in the Vancouver Island Mountains and the Nahwitti lowlands. Thick sequences of sand and gravel were deposited around the bedrock highs and decaying ice masses in the Susquash basin in deltas where the waters emptied into the sea. A large complex delta was formed in the Port McNeill area over an area measuring 5 kilometers (east-west), by 5 kilometers (north-south) along the eastern side of the Cluxewe River. Large braided and pro-grade sand and gravel deltaic deposits were formed along the eastern side of the Cluxewe River. 3
8 7.4-Local Geology-Map Figure 4 Polaris Materials mapping at a scale of 1:5 has defined a broad rock outcrop ridge of competent Karmutsen massive to amygdaloidal basaltic volcanics. The outcrop ridge is approximately 1 metres wide along a 2 metre east west strike in the centre of the claim block from the 2 to 4 metre elevation. The area is bounded steep outcrop cliffs on the west and east above logging access roads Detailed mapping throughout the volcanic bench area along road cuts and in rocky bluffs throughout the bench area has defined hard competent uniform Karmutsen basaltic volcanic material. The mapped Karmutsen basic volcanics are a highly competent uniform rock with a consistant joint set spacing of 5-17 cm with fresh unaltered joint faces throughout the area. Rock outcrop areas were located by GPS waypoints with detailed descriptions of hardness-colourfracture density and orientation - bedding features and joint set orientation and spacing were noted and recorded on field notes and spreadsheets. The principal geological features noted were rock hardness and joint set orientation and spacing. Two principal joint directions were mapped; one set NW from 3-34 degrees azimuth with 5-7 degree dips and a second set NE 4-8 degrees azimuth with 5-8 degree dips; bedding was also mapped in several places measuring degrees azimuth and dips of 25-4 degrees. 8-Data Entry All geological core data was digitized from field sheets using rock codes noting rock type-fracture and jointing spacing and orientation and alteration with nominal accuracy of 2-5 metres.
