4 w PROPERTY, LOCATION, ACCESS The claim is situated on the lower, steep northern-facing slopes on the height of land between Seton Creek and Ka.slo River watersheds. The LCP at the northwest comer is on the south edge of Highway 21A approximately IS0 metres east of Bear Lake. Fish Lake is approximately 100 metres north of the northeast comer of the claim. Access is via Highway 31A for 17 km easterly from New Denver. Elevations range from 1070 m (3500 ft) at the northwest comer to 1375 m (4400 ft) at the sontheast corner. The claim encloses the former Nil Desperandum Crown Grant which lapsed and was restaked as the Tufa claim. Net area claimed is approximately hectares (39 acres). The formerly productive Lucky Jim mine is located 1 km southwest of the Tufa claim. In the Lucky Jim replacement deposits of silver-lead-zinc were formed where northeasterly-trending fractures cross limestone beds. 7 Y W GENERAL GEOLOGY AND MINERALIZATION The predominant rock units in the vicinity are dark, fine-grained clastic sediments with subordinate limestone beds of the Upper Triassic to Lower Jurassic Slocan Group. Granitic dykes and sills intrude the sedimentary package and may be related to the Late Jurassic Nelson Batholith. Bedding and foliation of the Slocan Group are peneconcordant. Axes of the major folds strike north-northwesterly with dips of bedding southwesterly. either moderately northeasterly or Productive fault and fissure-filled lode systems in the Sandon Mining Camp trend northeasterly and dip steeply to moderately southeasterly. Numerous sites along the faults contain silver-lead-zinc sulphide mineralization but deposits of economic proportions are localized in zones of dilation between competent wallrocks. Replacement deposits in limestone which formed adjacent to through-going northeasterly lode zones are a sub-type of the mineralizing system. No outcrop was observed while prospecting the northwestern comer of the Tufa claim. Argillite and quartzite were noted in float. SOIL GEOCHEMISTRY Ten samples were collected with a long narrow spade from depths of approximately 30 cm below surface, corresponding approximatelytothe "C" horizon. Samples were packaged in wet-strmgth manila envelopes. Analyses were completed by ALS Chemex Labs of North Vancouver, B.C. Procedures and results a.re included in the Appendix. The following table displays statistical data concerning metal abundance derived from lognormal probability plots. Years of soil sampling results over Slocan Group rocks have been compiled into this information. 5

Adjacent samples contain threshold values of silver and lead. The anomalous ample is located in the transported sediments of a small intermittent drainage that descend:; steeply from the south. CONCLUSIONS to the south. A bedrock source for the anomalous silver and lead values may be present upslope RECOMMENDATIONS Soil geochemistry on gridlines and prospecting should be completed upslope to the south of the anomalous site. COST ESTIMATE geochemistry. A budget of $3000 should be available for continued prospecting and soil
