DigitalGlobe 2010, Geoimage 2010 Australia s leading provider of Satellite Imagery since 1988 Geoimage Pty Ltd is a privately owned Australian company and a leading supplier of satellite imagery, image processing and GeoSpatial services to the user community. The company was established in Brisbane in 1988 and has additional offices in both Perth and Sydney. Our mission is to provide professional service and quality advice and solutions to our clients. Our success can be attributed to our professional and independent approach to service delivery, striving to determine the best outcome for the client while offering value for money. We have recently expanded our capabilities to offer a full range of GeoSpatial solutions, to take advantage of the synergies between commercially available imagery and other spatial data and information. Based on a flexible and collaborative business model, this extended service offers clients the opportunity to undertake a diverse range of projects using relevant spatial data themes. Our approach to GeoSpatial Solutions is to align with the business needs of clients, to design solutions that integrate commercially available imagery and GIS data themes to assist in decision making, data interrogation, data publishing and dissemination. Geoimage has established a rapidly expanding spatial data warehouse and GeoSpatial standards to accommodate a range of discipline-specific tasking and project requirements. Data is warehoused locally on Geoimage s servers but Geoimage can customise this generic warehouse data for specific projects which can be hosted via WebGIS to enable access by clients and their nominated and approved associates. We have in-depth knowledge of archival material from a wide range of satellite sources and this, coupled with extensive knowledge of Local, State and Federal Government spatial data, provides a framework that will support most client applications and requirements.

3 SPOT 20m CNES A coordinated approach to GeoSpatial Solutions Advanced Spatial Analysis SEQ Koala Habitat The State of Queensland The synergies between imagery and other spatial datasets become most powerful when combined into an integrated GeoSpatial framework. How these complementary sources of information can be used depends on the range and magnitude of the queries that a user or analyst asks of that data. Geoimage has recognised the business benefits in offering a coordinated approach, utilising the advantages of commercially available data and streamlined technical methodologies. Geoimage is a vendor-independent company, using the best and most appropriate technologies to solve solutions. Within GeoSpatial, this includes both vector and raster systems, web and desktop environments and niche modelling programs to extract information for our clients. Our team has experience in a broad range of markets and applications, providing excellent understanding of the potential for GeoSpatial to contribute to business outcomes, with a realistic return on investment. We recognise that GeoSpatial solutions are generally part of a bigger picture. By working collaboratively with a wide range of discipline experts in areas as diverse as environment and ecology, infrastructure feasibility and concept design, climate change risk assessment, visualisation and urban design, to name a few, Geoimage coordinates a project team that suits not only the technical requirements of a project, but also the commercial and resource imperatives. We believe that GeoSpatial services potentially contribute to the life-cycle of most projects and we assist with embedding these sources of relevant, current and accurate information into the business processes of our clients. Having the flexibility to be responsive but offering targeted solutions is seen to be a strong characteristic in this competitive marketplace. Just some of our GeoSpatial services... Our range is constantly evolving to refl ect changes in technology, collaborations and demand. Collaboration is the key Geoimage s GeoSpatial team has established strategic relationships with organisations to offer integrated services around ecology, flora and fauna assessment, climate change risk assessment, environmental management and impact assessment, flood inundation and modelling, visual impact, land and resource management and primary production. Being able to hand-select organisations based on their professional capability and ethical approach to business is essential. We can offer solutions with the confidence that our clients will benefit from the natural synergies s between all project team members and that the resultant projects will reflect the outcomes of operational teamwork based on trust and collaboration says Andrea Herklots, GeoSpatial Manager for Geoimage.
4 Mining Operations Effective management of mine site information At Geoimage we recognise that any operation collates and manages vast amounts of data each year. We believe that spatial data management can assist miners, making sure that the right data reaches the right operator at the right time. Not only can we supply timely satellite imagery, we can also manage that with other data, package the data into a simple to use interface and distribute the data to groups that need it. This minimises risk associated with data management and encourages non-gis users to use the data as part of their normal work. Landsat 5 30m multispectral imagery (Bands 741) in RGB pan-sharpened with ALOS PRISM USGS 2009, JAXA RESTEC 2009 Data for Reporting If the data you need for reporting has to be collected rapidly or generated from imagery or elevation sources, Geoimage can assist. We have the tools and experience to extract targeted features from a range of sources and can advise on the most suitable data that is current, available and fi t for purpose. Our team of GeoSpatial professionals can: Rapidly capture site information such as assets, infrastructure, pit locations and stockpiles Map land cover and land use and relative changes over time Map vegetation rehabilitation sites and provide monitoring updates Map bore hole locations for water quality, geo-technical and environmental monitoring Map and update cultural heritage features 2 Metre and 10 Metre contours derived from a Worldview-1 DEM over a mine site north of Kalgoorlie Superpit Digital Globe 2009 Geoimage 2010 A A. 6 Having worked with imagery for the past 22 years, expanding our range of services to offer more value-added capability is a natural extension to our business. We are all excited about the new opportunities that this will offer our existing and potential clients. Bob Walker, CEO Geoimage A B C ALOS PRISM DEM at 5m spatial resolution - Roper River Area. A. Slope classes in percent rise derived from Digital Surface Model. Slopes impact the speed intensity and direction of fires. D E D. Aspect classes in cardinals derived from Digital Surface Model. Aspect influences the dryness of vegetated fuel and exposure to low humidity winds which impact fire intensity. E. Vegetation classes derived from classifying the imagery, grouped into fire behaviour clumps. Different vegetation communities accumulate dry fuel and different rates and influence their associated fire behaviour and hazard scores. F. Fire Hazard Map. Bushfire hazard severity is a combination of vegetation community hazard score, slope hazard scope and aspect hazard score by severity zones. F Digital Terrain and Digital Surface Models Terrain or surface data forms the basis of many GeoSpatial applications. These models generate a 3D surface for use in GeoSpatial applications and visualisation and to correct for relief distortion, enabling integration of the imagery with other projected spatial datasets. Geoimage is able to generate surface models from satellite sensors that track in stereo. These include WorldView-2, WorldView-1, IKONOS, GeoEye-1, ALOS PRISM and SPOT HRS. The suitability of these satellite sources is dependent on the vertical and horizontal accuracies required to generate the resultant surface or terrain model and on the amount of detail required. The accuracy of a surface model will depend on many factors, including: The accuracy and spread of the client supplied control data The accuracy with which the control points can be identifi ed in the stereo imagery The requirement for surface features to be identifi ed (surface models refl ect all features including vegetation and buildings) Data gaps arising from shadow and steep slopes where data has not been acquired by the satellite Environmental factors that impact the imagery including atmospheric conditions that may reduce the continuity of the surface Where satellite sources are not appropriate, Geoimage collaborates with aerial service providers who can fl y airborne LiDAR sensors (Light Detection and Ranging) to generate high resolution and highly accurate digital terrain and digital surface models and aerial photography.
