This means that the national road is significantly less congested. This is really transformational for people Page 1 of 6

2 living and businesses located in the Dakar area and is expected to have far reaching impacts in terms of urban planning and development of the Dakar conurbation. Implementation of upcoming RAPs: The mobilization of the US$30 million by GoS, needed to implement the remaining RAPs remains a challenge. This activity will require continued close monitoring. Opening of Sindia sanitary landfill: Negotiations with the neighboring communities for the opening new sanitary landfill in Sindia stopped in April 2013 when communities demanded the release of seven young men jailed as a consequence of the ransacking of the landfill in early A verdict delivered on September 3 authorized the release of these 7 young men and negotiations should resume soon, led by the Entente Cadak-Car (municipalities of Dakar and Rufisque). The Relocation Site of Tivaouane Peulh, now functional. Resettlement in the relocation site is relatively slower than expected: about 25 families are now living in Tivaouane Peulh, 62 families are currently building their houses and about 255 have already obtained a building permit. Those people resettled in Tivaouane Peulh clearly expressed their satisfaction. Upgrading of Pikine Irrégulier Sud: most of the investments will be dedicated to floods prevention. The Detailed Engineering studies have been completed and the bidding documents are being reviewed. The corresponding Resettlement Action Plan is being completed.
