1 Chapter 6: Mesamerican Civilizatins Summative Prject Dear Parents/Guardians, 5th Grade Scial Studies is excited t infrm yu that in lieu f a summative test fr Chapter 6, students will be cmpleting a summative prject (summative grades are 60%). During this prject, students will be demnstrating knwledge abut the gegraphy and peples f ancient Mesamerica while hning the ever imprtant skill f website building. Students will be cmpleting the majrity f the website building in class in rder t ensure that students have as much access t the cmputers as pssible. Hwever, they will need t d sme preparatin wrk at hme. Students will be prvided with template wrksheets that they will need t cmplete at hme in rder t create their websites and use class time as effectively as pssible. T ensure student success, a rubric will be prvided t students frm the beginning f the prject. Additinally, students will have checkpints thrughut the entirety f the prject where students will be turning in parts f their prject and graded accrdingly. The sum f the checkpints will be the final grade fr the prject. In rder t avid any stress ver access t the internet, I wuld like t remind parents and students f availability f internet access utside f class time.
