3 Connecting Shaft VWZ Fitting The connecting shafts can be fitted using split couplings after the screw jacks have been mounted and secured. Position the connection shaft onto the drive shaft and then assemble the split couplings using the assembly screws and a torque wrench according to the Table (no feather key necessary). Loosening one clamp coupling allows very precise and infinite setting. For example: With the standard gear reduction on our screw jacks, this means one 3 rotation is equivalent to 1 mm stroke (3. = 0.01 mm stroke). When setting under load, one lifting system with several screw jacks can be adjusted very quickly and accurately. The mounting selection is very important when selecting shaft dimensions. For example, the cost of a larger diameter connecting shaft not requiring additional pedestal bearing support can be considerably lower than for a smaller connecting shaft requiring costly substructures for the additional pedestal bearing. For use with pedestal bearings we use the rigid hub version so that no radial misalignment in the pedestal bearing is possible. 10 Bevel Gearboxes KSZ and KGZ Features and Benefits Same mounting height Screw jack Bevel gearbox Type T ZIMM bevel gearboxes have the same mounting height as the ZIMM screw jacks. Support plates are not required. Symmetry The drive shaft of the screw jacks and bevel gearboxes have the same diameter. When a larger bevel gearbox must be used due to a higher torque requirement, support plates or similar must be used to compensate for the centre height difference. Bevel gearboxes KSZ and KGZ can be rotated and mounted around the center axis in all directions. The bevel gearboxes can be turned 1 to change the rotation direction (T version only). 21 Rotary Voltage Motors, General Information Δ connection Pin assignment The motors usually have a terminal board with terminals and one grounded conductor clamp in the terminal box. The stator winding can be switched into star or delta connection using the connection pieces. A star/delta start is not suitable for screw jack systems because the full torque is already required from the start. When connecting the line phases in the order L1, L, L3 to the motor terminals U1, V1 W1, the rotation direction is righthanded. A reversal of the rotation direction is effected by reversing two of the supply lines. Speeds Rotary voltage motors have different rotational speeds depending on the number of poles. Generally we recommend our standard motor with 00 min1 (poles). Other numbers of poles on request. Polechangeable motors can be operated with different rotational speeds. Speed ( Hz) No. of poles (= preferred type) Geared motors Geared motors are available for particular projects on request. Operation with frequency converter FU Especially for larger screw jacks and systems, we recommend using a frequency converter to achieve smooth startup and brake ramps. This minimizes startup noise and extends the service life of the gearbox. When operating with a frequency converter, take into account that a separately driven fan is required for longer operation periods under Hz. This is necessary to ensure adequate motor cooling. When operating a brake motor with frequency converter, use a separate control line for the brake via the frequency converter. Brake motor We recommend using a brake motor to minimize the lagtime of the system. A brake is absolutely necessary for gearboxes with ball screws or pitch spindles.
