COBie (for Buildings) Based on MVD of Building IFCs no geometry extended constraints, attributes, relationships Uses OmniClass / Uniclass Buildings classifications Component location via Building / Floor / Space spatial hierarchy 2
COBie for All (incl. Civil / Infrastructure) Extends types, components w/out IFC prerequisite Extends classification schemes Adds geospatial location of components using representative point coordinates using feature id reference to GIS-held geometry/location Add linear referencing support for locating components linearly along linear elements segmenting continuous assets into discrete manageable units enabling variable attribution values along linear assets 3
4. Overview of Infra Projects 4
COBie 5
Infra Projects OGC Recommendations 1. Coordination of LandXML with OGC see later discussion of InfraGML 2. IFC Bridge integrate alignment 3. Use Case Definitions extend to full life-cycle (more later) 4. Communication for Urban & Landscape Planning large geospatial opportunity here 5. Scoping the Infrastructure bsdd needs to be harmonized (ref. GOM) 6

LandXML Status 25
LandXML Status (15, J) Presentation Milestones for the Work Group 26
OGC Land and Infrastructure DWG Purpose to explore the best approach for incorporating the LandXML schema into the OGC s standards base as well as how to better support and incorporate other land related information into OGC standards Activities Reviewing the current LandXML 1.2 schema and determining how best to continue to support the existing users and engage with them. Assessing the current industry support for the LandXML schema and whether multiple, incompatible versions of the schema have evolved. Investigating how to best incorporate LandXML into the OGC standards framework, including identifying places where there may be common elements in existing standards such as CityGML. Investigating the possibility of moving the LandXML schema into LandGML. Other efforts to integrate land information contained in various CAD formats into the OGC standards framework. 27
OGC Land and Infrastructure SWG The scope of work of this Land and Infrastructure SWG shall include the following activities: 1. Develop a conceptual model from the as-is LandXML 1.2 XML schema using UML class diagrams 2. Develop a proposed conceptual model by modifying the as-is model, based on user requirement input from the Land and Infrastructure DWG and other relevant sources. 3. Create an implementation-independent OGC Land Standard, Part 1 Common Architecture based on the modified conceptual model. Future work of the SWG shall be to develop implementationspecific Parts of the OGC Land Standard. These might include LandXML 2.0, LandGML, or others as the Land and Infrastructure DWG may indicate or as the need may arise. 28
General LandXML Possible Problems Optional Content flexibility vs. interchange Schema Document Structure none Name Optionality Inconsistency Choice Compositor e.g. Spiral Start, PI, End Station Data Type sometimes just Double Case Inconsistencies Confusing Plural Names Profile is a collection Unique Identifiers inconsistent, unexplained Feature up-side-down; inconsistent; un-correlationable 29
