The Research Program design and operations manual has been finalized. Guidance Documents covering seven topics (Unified Metropolitan Transit Authorities, Urban Transport Fund, Transit oriented Development, Non Motorised Transport Masterplan, Traffic Managament & Information Control Centre, National Urban Transport Helpline, contracting Private Bus Operations) have been released by MoUD. The Impact Evaluation Study on the Bus Funding scheme is excessively delayed. Among the city demonstration projects, the ITS system for Mysore city bus is performing well; In Pimpri Chinchwad, the two BRTS corridors in operation continue to experience strong ridership; Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) has done a pilot launch of the BRT Lite within Naya Raipur. Meanwhile, NRDA has formalized the introduction of ToD principles into its Development Plan 2031 and gazette notification has been issued; Land acquisition is substantially complete and procurements complete in Hubli Dharwad, but the progress on construction packages needs improvement. The restructuring for extending the Project Closing date to March 31, 2018 has been approved. Overall, the implementation progress is moderately satisfactory. 3/1/2017 Page 2 of 15
