1 New England Climate Indicator Maps Maps of New England depicting region-wide change in 26 climate indicators for current conditions compared to end of the century for two different global greenhouse gas emission scenarios (high [A1fi] and low [B1]). The initial historical data and model simulations of the future were provided for 182 Global Historical Climatology Network (GHCN) station locations for temperature indicators and 308 GHCN station locations for precipitation indicators. The breakdown of the number of stations by state is provided in Table 1. The ArcGIS Spatial Analyst Kriging function was used to create raster data from these station points. Default values were used for all parameters to the function. This included the use of a Spherical semivariogram, cell-size and lag-size of 0.02 degrees, and internally calculated values for the major range, partialsill and nugget parameters. A spatial extent of -74, 40.5, , and 48 degrees was used resulting in raster surfaces of 340 columns by 324 rows. The following projection were used to create the raster data maps: Map coordinate system: Lambert Conformal Conic Central Meridian: st Standard Parallel: 20 2nd Standard Parallel: 60 Latitude of Origin: 40 Unit: meter Table 1. Number of temperature and precipitation GHCN stations across New England used to make the climate indicator maps.
