2 / Outline UFO Database in Internet Database content Data collections UFO Toulouse trial Web interface Conclusions
3 / FTP site and Security The FTP site : ftp://ufo.ewi.tudelft.nl - accessible from anywhere through internet Each partner has its own password With this password each partner has some privileges inside the structure of the FTP site. Data folder Intended for sharing data from each partner ALL partners have READ access to ALL subfolders contained in this directory Each partner has WRITE privileges ONLY for its own subfolder ONLY TU Delft has COMPLETE access to ALL folders because of maintenance purposes. Documents folder Intended for documents sharing between partners ALL partners have READ and WRITE privileges in this folder and subfolders 22/01/2015
/ UFO FTP database Current state of the UFO database ~150 GB of data... Data collections to support the study of the wind fields, turbulence and its parameters retrievals UFO trials dataset(s) 22/01/2015
Data collections
6 / Data collections In the UFO database included the LES simulation results and a few datasets, which were not measured or collected using developed and tested in the framework of the UFO project instruments, but partners shared them as soon as they can be used to develop, test and validate algorithms for remote sensing of wind and turbulence. Simulated data LES database of atmospheric turbulence - Université catholique de Louvain (UCL) Data from previous campaigns Radar data for development and evaluation of signal processing and wind field retrieval algorithms 22/01/2015

21 / On-line database description And we propose to create a web-site with the on-line description of the trial(s)/campaign(s) involved instruments, database Data overview, Data quality overview, Quick-looks (link to FTP), Link to data files on FTP-server (rights control or public), Retrievals (quicklooks, links to processed data, ref to algorithms) Analysis & comparisons (case study, statistical analysis, ref to publications)
22 / Collaboration of the UFO partners in the web As an initial example we created pages using the MediaWiki web-engine (like Wikipedia): Advantages: link. Read & edit from your web-browser Partners collaboration write, check, edit your contents Upload images, documents, press releases Include video Reference to publications Update at any moment
23 / At this moment Created special namespace UFO and special user group UFO members that gives the opportunity to secure access rights At this moment the (un-)registered visitor do not have access rights even to see the UFO contents What the UFO partners have to do to register on site as standard user and send me (o.a.krasnov at tudelft.nl) with your USER-NAME I ll include you into the UFO member group. Then you can see all protected content, create new and edit existing pages, upload pictures/ql As soon as data description will be finished, copyright issues solved, the reading access can be granted to public (anonym/registered)
2 / Conclusions The FP7 UFO project Database is created and available on-line via FTP protocol At this moment the access to database is available only for the UFO project Consortium members/partners It is possible to make the FP7 UFO project s (Trials) Database available for European & International Collaboration A few actions have to be done before: To formulate and agree between partners the data policy To match the web-database structure with data policy To make web-interface for data overview and access (web-site) Collaborative web-project based on MediaWiki
