1 DAVID J. SANDE AND EDWARD J. STEWART PROPERTY SUMMARY AREA Sawbill Bay (Marmion Lake), Thunder Bay Mining Division Claims Map G S 3 GEOLOGY The claims known as the Stewart 8. Sande property are situated in the Marmion Lake Batholith and the rock is basically granitic with very little sulphides Denver Stone did a geological survey on the area and identified various fracture zones that appear to be good gold targets (1995 MISC Paper pages 45-47). The aim of our exploration programme is to locate zones of alteration in the batholith and determine if gold is associated with them. The rock in these zones is basically granite with very little sulphides and some rust. However gold values over 1 oz/ton have been found in them. EXPLORATION METHOD Due to the fact that the gold bearing rock in this area is almost identical to the barren surrounding rock, the method used to explore this area is to do a minimal amount of stripping (ie 5-10 square feet) at a great number of locations and do a lot as assays. These areas and the resulting assays are marked on my maps with an "x". When we obtain a good assay we strip the area with a backhoe and then wash the rock with a fire pump and channel sample with a rock saw. HISTORY The claim block has been worked on since It has been optioned to three different mining companies during this time.
