The series was originally scheduled to take place in Ames, Iowa, on April 6-8 but was moved to Norman due to anticipated inclement weather. u On Sunday, OU opened the doubleheader with an 8-1 win in game one. The win was highlighted by a seven-run third inning in which OU took advantage of four Cyclone errors. Jocelyn Alo put OU on the board first with a threerun home run to left field, and Nicole Pendley immediately followed with a blast of her own, a solo shot to right that extended the Sooner lead to 4-0. After Shay Knighten reached on an error, Nicole Mendes hit her team-high third triple of the season to plate Knighten. Then, Mendes raced home on a wild pitch. Lea Wodach and Kelsey Arnold reached third and second, respectively, on a pair of errors before Aviu plated Wodach with a grounder. u Arnold led OU s offensive effort in game two, going 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a run. Although the Cyclones got on the board in the first inning the first time this season the Sooners allowed a run in the first inning OU responded in the second as Arnold singled down the right field line to drive in Mendes and Caleigh Clifton before scoring on an error. After the Sooners added four more, the Cyclones scored four of their own in the fifth. ISU s five runs total were the most OU has given up in a single game this season. Nonetheless, OU added two insurance runs in the sixth to clinch a 9-5 win. u The Sooners clinched the sweep with a 9-1 run-rule win in five innings on Monday afternoon. The Cyclones scored one run in the first inning again, but the Sooner defense quickly settled in to retire the next 15 batters in order. OU took a commanding lead with seven runs in the bottom of the frame. With the bases loaded, Mendes and Clifton drew a pair of walks to score two. The next batter, Wodach, singled through the left side to drive in Pendley and Mendes. Aviu then drilled a three-run homer to left center that extended the lead to 7-1. Knighten hit a blast of her own in the second inning, a two-run shot to left center that put OU up 9-1 and sealed the run-rule win. u Senior Paige Parker was impressive throughout the weekend in the circle, claiming two wins over two starts and earning her first save of the season in her other appearance. Mariah Lopez claimed the win in game two, allowing one run on two hits over 4.0 innings. Paige Lowary appeared in games two and three, allowing no runs on three hits. STREAKING u The Sooners have won 25 consecutive games with their last defeat coming on Feb. 24 at the hands of then-no. 13 Arizona as OU lost 2-0 in the final game of the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.
