Besides the gorgeous campus, welcoming coaches and players, and the hospitable diehard Sooner fans, I chose Oklahoma because it s my home. Every camp and every visit I attended, the University of Oklahoma embraced me with open arms... I can see myself not only growing as an athlete, but as a Christian and as a person. I strive every day to be better than the last, and every day I spend at OU I see improvements in myself and the people around me. Coach Gasso says: Alissa Dalton is an infielder who is very versatile. I ve seen her play third, short and second. I ve seen her do pretty much everything. She s a left-handed hitter that can hit for power and hit through gaps. She is a tough, tough out. She is that kind of hitter that can work the count and get what she wants. I think she s definitely going to make an impact as a freshman.

I chose the University of Oklahoma for several reasons. Not only does it have a strong focus on academics but it has an excellent softball program. But what makes Oklahoma really stand out to me and what makes me look forward to attending OU is how it will develop me as a person, help me grow as a leader and challenge me to accomplish my dreams. I believe that by attending the University of Oklahoma I will be in an environment that will help me reach my full potential as a student, as an athlete and as a person. Coach Gasso says: Nicole Mendes is another one of those versatile athletes. She s a left-handed pitcher who could throw some innings for us, but she s also a phenomenal centerfielder. She also can play first base and is a very good left-handed hitter. She s got tremendous speed and a strong arm. I think she s one of those athletes that is very few and far between because she has the ability to pitch; it s a Shelby Pendley-style.
