The game is scheduled to be aired on Fox Sports Oklahoma Plus and on the air through KEBC 1560 AM or online through the Franchise 2. Tickets for the remainder of OU Softball s home games are sold out. LAST TIME OUT Oklahoma was dominant in its final regular season tournament, scoring 58 runs and finishing 5-0 at the LMU/CSUN Tournament in Los Angeles and Northridge, Calif. In OU s 12-1 victory over UC Santa Barbara, junior Mariah Lopez struck out a career-high-matching 13 batters. Offensively, Jocelyn Alo led the way with two hits, two runs and an RBI. Nicole Mendes also had a pair of hits. Caleigh Clifton, Sami Skelly and Kinsey Koeltzow all drove in two runs, marking the first multi-rbi performances of Skelly and Koeltzow s careers. Against Loyola Marymount that afternoon, Giselle Juarez retired all 15 batters she faced to register the first perfect game of her collegiate career. It was the 13th perfect game in OU history and the first since Paige Parker recorded four in The Sooner offense stayed hot and won 14-0 in five. Alo went 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run and a double, driving in seven runs and scoring one. Alo s career-high seven RBIs tie for thirdmost in a single game in program history and are the most since Lauren Chamberlain recorded seven in February On Friday against Darmouth, the Sooners registered a season-high 17 hits, including nine for extra bases, to earn an 11-0 victory. Sydney Romero set a career high with four hits, including two doubles and a home run, while scoring three runs and driving in two. Falepolima Aviu matched a career high with three hits while Mendes, Grace Green and Grace Lyons each tallied two. Clifton and Skelly both joined Romero in driving in two runs. Against CSUN, OU won 11-0 in five innings as Aviu went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored while Romero finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Green and Lynnsie Elam both tallied a pair of RBIs against the Matadors, and Clifton went 2-for-2 with three runs scored, matching a career high. The Sooners sealed a 5-0 weekend with an 11-1, six-inning victory over Illinois on Saturday. Juarez tossed a complete game, striking out a dozen batters for her fourth game this season with double-digit strikeouts. The Sooner offense was powered by home runs from Clifton, Aviu and Alo. All three finished 2-for-3 on the day; Aviu tallied three RBIs and both Clifton and Alo finished with two. Also registering two hits were Mendes and Elam. Five straight games of double-digit runs match a program record for most consecutive games with 10+ runs, previously achieved from March 8-15, Oklahoma leads the nation in batting average (.365) while ranking third in on-base percentage (.452), slugging percentage (.635) and scoring (7.63 runs per game). Additionally, OU ranks fourth with 1.67 home runs per game. Overall, the Sooners have run-ruled 12 opponents and shut out 13 in 2019, outscoring opponents

Oklahoma Florida State Florida UCLA Oregon Overall, the Sooner seniors have accumulated three Big 12 regular season titles, two Big 12 postseason trophies (the Big 12 Tournament was not held in 2016) and a pair of national championships during their time with OU. NO PLACE LIKE HOME After opening its home slate 7-0, Oklahoma is currently on a 41-game home winning streak, good for its second-best streak in program history. The longest is 45 games, held from April 14, 2000 to March 29, OU last lost at home on April 23, The Sooners opened their home campaign with a pair of ranked wins at the Courtyard Marriott Tournament on March 1 before defeating 6-1 in an afternoon matchup on March 5 in its first midweek game. OU rounded out its longest homestand of the season (seven games) with four wins at its second home tournament March The OU Athletics Ticket Office announced on March 7 that tickets are sold out for the remainder of the 2019 home season. In 2018, the Sooners went 30-0 at Marita Hynes Field, including a 25-0 mark in the regular season. It marked the second perfect home record in school annals, also occurring in 2001 (18-0). Additionally, 30 home wins were the second-most in OU history behind the 2014 team s 32. FACING NORTH TEXAS Most Wins Since 2016 Team Wins Losses Ties Win Pct. 1. Oklahoma Florida State Florida Auburn UCLA The Sooners have never lost to the Mean Green, holding a 29-0 record in all-time contests. The 29-game winning streak is Oklahoma s third longest against a Division I opponent. The Sooners only longer streaks are against Wichita State (35) and Iowa State (33). The two teams last met in 2017 in Norman after conditions in Denton rendered the field unplayable, and Oklahoma claimed an 8-0 run-rule win in six innings. Ten Sooners combined for 16 hits while pitchers Mariah Lopez, Nicole Mendes and Paige Lowary combined on the shutout. OU and UNT s 2018 game was canceled due to poor weather conditions in Denton. The two teams also faced off in the fall, with OU claiming a 9-3 victory in a 10-inning exhibition.

Once a student-athlete ( ) and graduate assistant ( ) for the Sooners, the former Jennifer Jaime returns to Oklahoma after most recently spending 13 years at Florida. During Rocha s tenure, the Gators won two NCAA titles (2014, 2015) and made nine Women s College World Series appearances (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018). Additionally, Florida claimed seven SEC regular season titles (2008, 2009, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) and four SEC Tournament tiles (2008, 2009, 2013, 2018) with Rocha on staff. Leading the Gators pitching staff, Rocha has coached seven All- Americans. In 2015, she was named NFCA Assistant Coach of the Year. Another new coach familiar to the Sooner program is Keilani Ricketts, who returned to Oklahoma to serve as the volunteer assistant in Ricketts is one of just three players in college softball history to be named the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year more than once, joining the ranks of Cat Osterman and Danielle Lawrie. Ricketts became the first Sooner to win the award in 2012 and then repeated in The first four-time All-American in program history, Ricketts was named the 2013 Big 12 Female Athlete of the Year as she helped lead Oklahoma to its second national title. Selected as the No. 4 pick in the 2013 NPF Draft, Ricketts has spent the past six seasons with USSSA Pride, most recently leading the Pride to the 2018 Cowles Cup. Additionally, Ricketts joined the Toyota Shokki out of Kariya, Japan, in August Ricketts is also a member of the USA Softball Women s National Team. Also joining the OU staff are Kelsey Arnold and Lea Wodach, who will serve as undergraduate assistants for 2019 as they complete their degrees. The duo exhausted athletic eligibility in 2018, finishing their playing careers with two NCAA titles, four Big 12 regular season crowns, two Big 12 postseason trophies and three WCWS appearances. Finally, a pair of graduate assistants round out the OU coaching staff s new additions: DJ Gasso and Delanie Gourley. Gasso concluded his collegiate baseball career in 2018 at the University of Central Oklahoma, while Gourley graduated from Florida in 2017 after earning All-America First-Team, All-Southeast Region First-Team and All-SEC First-Team honors in both her junior and senior seasons. Clifton was named Big 12 Player of the Week for the first time in her career while Juarez was tabbed Big 12 Co-Pitcher of the Week, her second honor this season. Juarez also owns four Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week honors from her sophomore campaign at Arizona State. Juarez shared this week s honor with Texas Shealyn O Leary. Clifton was one of four Sooners to bat.500 last weekend, finishing 7-for-14 at the plate. She led Oklahoma with a.632 on-base percentage and a slugging percentage, ranking second and fifth in the league, respectively. The senior captain was first in the Big 12 in runs scored this week, crossing home nine times. She matched a career high against CSUN with three runs. Additionally, Clifton recorded seven RBIs at the tournament, ranking fourth in the league, and had a hit in every game to match her career-long hitting streak of seven. Juarez registered the first perfect game of her career over the weekend, retiring all 15 batters she faced at Loyola Marymount on Thursday. It was the first perfect game by a Big 12 pitcher since Paige Parker recorded four in 2015 and marked the 33rd in conference history (13th by a Sooner). A product of Glendale, Ariz., Juarez went 2-0 overall on the weekend with a pair of complete-game performances. She struck out a dozen batters against Illinois on Saturday, marking her fourth game this season with at least 10 strikeouts. Her 18 total strikeouts last week were second-most in the league. BIG 12 HONORS POUR IN Through the first six weeks of play, the Sooners have claimed seven of the Big 12 s 13 weekly accolades. Mariah Lopez opened the season by winning back-to-back Big 12 Pitcher of the Week Awards. On Feb. 26, OU swept the weekly awards as Sydney Romero was named Big 12 Player of the Week and Giselle Juarez was tabbed Big 12 Pitcher of the Week. Shannon Saile earned Big 12 Pitcher of the Week on March 12 before Juarez and Caleigh Clifton claimed honors this week. Overall, Romero has earned five Big 12 weekly accolades in her career while Lopez has claimed three. Juarez holds two weekly honors from the Big 12; she also earned f our Pac- 12 Pitcher of the Week honors while at Arizona State in Saile s honor on March 12 was her first from the Big 12, adding to her seven Conference USA Pitcher of the Week honors in 2017 and 2018 while at Florida International. Clifton s award this week was the first of her Sooner career. K. After last weekend s action, all three of OU s primary pitchers rank in the top 15 nationally in strikeouts per seven innings pitched. Shannon Saile leads the country in the category, averaging 13.2 K/7IP, while Mariah Lopez ranks fifth with 10.9 K/7IP. Giselle Juarez sits in 14th (10.1 K/7IP). Additionally, Saile and Juarez both rank in the top 10 in strikeout-to-walk ratio. Saile s rate of 9.43 strikeouts per walk is second nationally, while Juarez (8.18 K/BB) ranks eighth. Lopez is 26th in the country at 5.93 strikeouts per walk. Overall, the Sooners lead Division I softball with a strikeout-to-walk ratio of Additionally, the Sooner pitching staff ranks second with a 1.09 ERA, led by Lopez s ERA of 0.61 that ranks fifth individually. DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS Oklahoma s defense ranks third nationally with a fielding percentage of.985. The Sooners have not committed an error in 11 straight games, last doing so on March 1 against Oregon State. In 2018, the Sooners led the nation with a.986 fielding percentage, committing just 22 errors in 62 games. In addition to ranking first in the country, the Sooners 2018 fielding percentage and error total both ranked first in program history for a single season. SENSATIONAL SYDNEY After earning NFCA First-Team All-America accolades in 2018, senior infielder Sydney Romero has followed up with a stellar start in The senior ranks ninth nationally with 41 hits this year, 13th with 75 total bases and 18th with nine home runs. She is also averaging 1.11 runs per game, ranking 23rd. Romero currently ranks fifth in program history in career hits (271) and sacrifice flies (eight). Her 183 career RBIs are tied for eighth-most by a Sooner, and with 43 career homers, Romero ranks 10th in school annals. She led the Big 12 with 29 strikeouts, finishing second with strikeouts per seven innings pitched. The junior struck out 14 batters over 6.0 shutout innings against BYU, good for the most strikeouts by a Big 12 pitcher this season and her first double-digit strikeout performance as a Sooner. Juarez followed that showing with 11 strikeouts against No. 14 Arizona. In her third appearance, Juarez struck out all four batters she faced over 1.1 innings of work. Juarez allowed one run all weekend, coming against the 14th-ranked Wildcats to finish with a 0.49 ERA. She scattered four hits over 14.1 innings to total a.087 opponent batting average that ranked third in the Big 12 and first among pitchers with multiple appearances. This marks the second time in her collegiate career that Juarez has been recognized by the NFCA with a weekly award; she also earned the accolade in March 2018 as a sophomore at Arizona State. It is her third overall national weekly honor, as she was named the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Week last season. The Glendale, Ariz., product is just the third Sooner in program history to be named NFCA Pitcher of the Week, joining Jill Most (1997) and Paige Parker (2015 and 2018). RUN IN POLLS CONTINUES After going 5-0 last week, OU held steady at No. 2 in both the USA Today/NFCA Division I Coaches Poll and the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25. Oklahoma is the only program to be ranked every week of the NFCA poll, a run of 359 straight polls. THREE NAMED TO PLAYER OF THE YEAR WATCH LIST Senior infielder Sydney Romero, junior left-handed pitcher Giselle Juarez and sophomore utility player Jocelyn Alo are among the 50 student-athletes on the 2019 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Watch List. All three Sooners were named NFCA First Team All-Americans in Three selections tie for third nationally with Arizona and Washington having four representatives and Florida and UCLA also having three. The top 25 finalists for the 2018 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award will be announced April 24. While an athlete does not have to be on the Watch List to be considered for the top 25, the eventual USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year will come from the top 25. The top 10 will be announced May 8 and the top three announced May 22. The 2018 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year will be revealed May 28. Oklahoma alumna and current volunteer assistant coach Keilani Ricketts was a two-time recipient of the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award, considered the most prestigious honor in NCAA Division I Softball. THAT LL LEAVE A MARK... ON THE RECORD BOOKS Senior captain and Oklahoma native Caleigh Clifton set a program record on Feb. 16 for the number of times hit by a pitch. The first pitch of the game against Hofstra hit her in the leg for her 55th career HBP. ROAD WARRIORS The Sooners will be road tested in 2019 with 38 of their 51 games being held on the road or at neutral sites. Oklahoma will play just 13 games at Marita Hynes Field in OU has played fewer regular season home games just three other times in the Patty Gasso era: nine in 1997, 12 in 1996 and six in Additionally, 13 home games is the third lowest total in the country among major conference teams this season. Only Oregon State and Iowa have fewer, each scheduled to host 12 home games in The Sooners are playing a road-heavy schedule due to Big 12 scheduling. In 2018, the Sooners series against Iowa State was moved to Norman due to snow in Ames, Iowa. As a result, Oklahoma will travel to Ames in both 2019 and 2020 and will host just four conference games (Baylor series and one Bedlam contest) in Norman this year. NORTH TEXAS 9 Now in her 25th season at the University of Oklahoma, NFCA Hall of Fame head coach Patty Gasso has molded the OU softball program into a national power and permanently placed herself among the elite college softball coaches in the country. Oklahoma has won four national championships, winning in 2000, 2013, 2016 and OU is one of just three programs in NCAA history to win more than two national titles. She s reached the Women s College World Series 12 times during her tenure, and in the process, advanced to the postseason in each of her 24 seasons. With 28 seasons as a head coach to her name, Gasso has a career collegiate coaching record of 1, (.779) and holds an overall record of 1, (.786) at the University of Oklahoma. Needing only 1,300 games to get there, Gasso became the second fastest to reach 1,000 wins in NCAA Division I history during the 2015 season. She has won more Big 12 games (325-85) than any coach in the league s history and has twice as many wins as any other coach in OU history.
