4 Determining the PL r For each selected safety function it is first necessary to determine the required performance level (PL r ) and to compare it with the performance level (PL) achieved by the Mayser sensor. The PL r of the safety function must correspond at least to the PL. 6 Determining the PL If the categories, and are known, the performance level (PL) can be determined based on the table. The table shows a simplified procedure for assessment and is used in the first step for estimating the PL.
