24 Conclusions Washover accumulation in the backbarrier has been minimal over geologic time Minimal sand nearshore and offshore from storm impacts Critical barrier thickness and height associated with breaching and washover (South and East Texas are below it, Central Texas is above it) Bolivar Peninsula, whose ridges have remained in tact for at least 1,500, were breached by Hurricane Ike
