Opi sa li smo vpliv relie fa na lego obpo tre snih poboč nih pro ce sov z vi di ka nji ho ve več je gosto te v ovrš jih gora, ome ni li pa tudi neka te re posle di ce, kot so pris pe va nje sedi men tov v vo do to ke in mož nost nji ho ve ga zaje ze va nja. KLJUČNE BESEDE geo gra fi ja narav nih nesreč, potre si, zemelj ski pla zo vi, skal ni podo ri, prož nost, mode li ra nje, New mar kova meto da ABSTRACT Co-seismic slope processes in Slovenia The article presents one of the possible methods for elaboration of probability maps for co-seismic landslides and rockfalls in Slovenia in large scale (regional and national). The probability of their triggering was assessed by the Newmark's method. The method consists of landslide risk evaluation using stability factor and critical acceleration, while rockfall risk was assessed using an empirical equation. The results were compared with landslide risk models and data on the location of slope processes obtained from the Slovenian National Landslide Database, and of co-seismic rockfalls in the Soča Valley (Posočje) in In addition, the article describes the influence of the relief on the position of co-seismic slope processes from the perspective of their increased density on mountain ridges. We also describe the main consequences of slope processes, such as their contribution to sediment deposition in water courses and the possibility of their impoundment. Po podat kih iz Ita li je so naj po go stej ši obpo tre sni geo morf ni poja vi raz po ke (30 %), takoj nato pa sle di jo zemelj ski pla zo vi (20 %) in skal ni podo ri (14 %; Pre sti nin zi in Romeo 2000), ki so na pri mer ob potre su v po kra ji ni Wenc huan na Kitaj skem leta 2008 (M 7,9) vze li živ ljenj (Yin, Wang in Sun 2009). Ob potre su v Po soč ju 12. apri la 1998 (M 5,6; VII. VIII. EMS) se je spro ži lo okrog sto skal nih podorov, ob potre su 12. ju li ja 2004 (M 4,9; VI. VII. EMS) pa 50 manj ših skal nih podo rov (Vi drih in Ribičič 1998; Vidrih, Ribi čič in Suha dolc 2001; Komac in Zorn 2002; Zorn 2002a; Natek, Komac in Zorn 2003; Mikoš, Faza rinc in Ribi čič 2006). Moč ni potre si naj po go ste je nasta ja jo ob regio nal nih pre lo mih, zato lah ko gle de na odda lje nost od pre lo mov skle pa mo tudi o mož no sti nastan ka obpo tre snih poboč - nih pro ce sov. Ob potre sih v Ita li ji je 60 % poboč nih pro ce sov nasta lo v raz da lji do 10 km od pre lo - mov, nasta ja li pa so še do raz da lje 25 km (Gas pa ri ni s so de lav ci 1997; Espo si to s so de lav ci 2000; Pre sti nin zi in Rome ro 2000). Pri potre su v Po soč ju leta 1998 je 60 % podo rov nasta lo v raz da lji 400 m od pre lo mov, naj bolj odda ljen pa je bil 2 km od najb liž je ga pre lo ma. Med vse mi potre si na ozem - lju Slo ve ni je je 50 % potre sov z mag ni tu do nad 5 na sta lo v od da lje no sti do 2 km od pre lo mov (pre - gled ni ca 1). Ob potre su v Po soč ju leta 1998 so se tri četr ti ne skal nih podorov spro ži le v zgor nji polo vi ci pobo čij, nad rela tiv no viši no 700 m, četr ti na pa nad 1000 m nad dolin skim dnom. Za pri mer ja vo: polo vi ca (vseh) poboč nih pro ce sov iz slo ven ske Nacio nal ne podat kov ne baze zemelj skih pla zov se je spro ži la v spod nji polo vi ci pobo čij, do rela tiv ne viši ne 300 m nad dolin skim dnom. 118

Tret ji na podo rov se je spro ži la na nesta bil nih (Fs' niž ji od 0,2) kam ni nah (osem na robu kvar tar nih teras, šti ri najst pa na moren skem gra di vu), veči na pa v trd - nih, pogoj no sta bil nih kam ni nah (Fs' = 0,8 0,9), in sicer deset na dolo mi tu ter osem na apnen cu. 60 % podo rov se je spro ži lo na poboč jih z vi so kim kri tič nim pos peš kom, kjer sta k pro že nju prispe - vala raz po ka nost in pre pe re lost kam ni ne. Potre sa 1998 in 2004 sta v niž je lege pre sta vi la sko raj milijon m 3 gra di va, od tega je sla ba tret ji na osta la na poboč jih, peti na gra di va je dose gla vodo to - ke, polo vi ca pa lah ko dose že vodo to ke ob pri hod njih ekstrem nih pada vi nah (Mi koš, Faza rinc in Ribi čič 2006). V Po soč ju je na začet ku holo ce na pod Polov ni kom dalj ši čas obsta ja lo Srpe niš ko jeze ro, ki bi lah ko bilo pove - za no s skal nim podo rom (Bu ser 1986; Zorn 2002a; Bavec s so de lav ci 2004, 276). Do zaje zi tve je prišlo tudi pod Dobra čem ob potre su 1348 (Zorn 2002b). To smo v Slo ve ni ji že opa zo va li leta 1998 (Na tek, Komac in Zorn 2003), izra zi tej ši pa je ta pojav ob moč nej ših potre sih (Yong in Booth 2011). Ker z zem lje vi da na sli ki 4 brez poz na va nja kra jev nih raz mer ni povsem jasno, kate re poboč ne pro - ce se opi su je, smo podat ke z zem lje vi da pri mer ja li z re zul ta ti sta ti stič ne ana li ze mož no sti pro že nja obpo tre snih skal nih podo rov. Vala gus sa, Frat ti ni in Cro sta (2014) so namreč na pri me ru 1006-ih obpo - tre snih podo rov v Fur la ni ji 1976 ugo to vi li, da na nji ho vo pro že nje naj bolj vpli va jo naklon, potre sna nevar nost in ukriv lje nost površ ja. Podor nost so izra ču na li z enač bo: D (ver jet nost nesta bil no sti poboč ja) = 4,73 + 0,067.S+0,0041. PGA + 0,00011.C (3) kjer je S na klon površ ja (sto pi nje), PGA pri ča ko va ni potre sni pos pe šek tal (cm s- -2 ), C sk pa skup na ukriv - lje nost površ ja (m/m). Po tej meto di bi bila ob potre su nesta bil na veči na str mih vzpe tih pokra jin, saj last no sti kam nin niso upo šte va ne. Meto da slab še napo ve območ ja pro že nja zemelj skih pla zov kot metoda potre sne ga pos peš ka, bolje pa skal ne podo re (sli ka 6). Na če lo ma meto da ni nepo sred no pre nos lji va na območ ja z dru gač ni mi kam ni na mi in relie fom, kot so bili tisti, na pod la gi kate rih je bila nare je na. Čeprav tako kot vsi mode li pos plo šu je kom plek sno pokra jin sko stvar nost (pred po stav lja na pri mer vzpo rednost drsne plosk ve s po boč jem, ena ko mer no striž no trd nost poboč ja, ena ko mer no glo bi no in nasi če nost pre mi ka jo če se gmo te), omo go ča ana li zo z geo graf ski mi infor ma cij ski mi siste mi. Tako dobi mo vpogled v pro stor sko raz po re di tev obpo tre snih poboč nih pro ce sov (pred vsem zemelj ske pla zo ve) in regio nalne raz li ke v pri ča ko va nih pre mi kih tal, pa tudi nji ho vo ver jet nost. Model je pri me ren za anali zo na državni in regio nal ni rav ni, za natanč nej ši pri kaz pa bi mora li nare di ti labo ra to rij ske ana li ze last no sti kam nin in sedi men tov, pose bej nji ho ve geo me han ske trd no sti, pa tudi raz po ka nost in zasi če no sti z vodo, ki močno vpli va na pla ze nje (in s tem tudi na rezul ta te mode la). Meto da je pri mer na za ugo tav lja nje obmo čij, kjer ob potre sih lah ko pri de do pre mi kov gra di va na poboč jih ozi ro ma nastan ka zemelj skih pla zov, ne more mo pa z njo oce ni ti mož no sti obpo tre snih pre mi kov na dolo če nem poboč ju. Na pod la gi rezul ta tov v tem član ku opi sa ne ga mode li ra nja skle pa mo, da lah ko prib liž no tret ji no poboč nih pro ce sov v Na cio nal ni podat kov ni bazi zemelj skih pla zov pri šte je mo k skal nim podo rom. Meto da raz me ro ma dobro napo ve pla zo vi tost, saj se je sko raj 60 % poboč nih pro ce sov iz podat kov ne baze spro ži lo na območ jih, ki so bila ovred no te na kot nesta bil na, sko raj vsi pa na območ jih z niz kim kri - tič nim pos peš kom. S po moč jo New mar ko ve meto de smo oce ni li tudi veli kost in ver jet nost pre mi ka tal ob potre sih. Meto da daje z upo ra bo kri tič ne ga pos peš ka vpo gled v ene ga od pomemb nih vzro kov nastan ka poboč nih pro ce sov (po tre si). V član ku pred stav lja mo tudi oce no mož no sti nastan ka skal nih podo rov ob potre sih z enač bo, ki teme lji na podat kih tiso čih skal nih podo rov po potre su v Fur la ni ji leta Ugo tav lja mo, da je prib - liž no polo vi ca skal nih podo rov po potre su v Po soč ju leta 1998 nasta la na območ jih z vi so ko oce nje no mož nost jo nastan ka skal nih podo rov in v bli ži ni pre lo mov. Do bra last nost opi sa nih račun skih pri sto pov je mož nost oce ne inten zi te te potre sa na nepo se ljenih, odroč nih območ jih in vred no te nje zem lje vi dov potre sne, pla zov ne in podor ne ter poplav ne nevar no - sti, kjer je ote že no nepo sred no mer je nje pre mi kov tal ob potre sih, kar je pomem ben napo ve do val ni dejav nik za pro že nje potre snih poboč nih pro ce sov. Zem lje vi di, ki jih izde la mo s pred stav lje no meto do, so sicer pri mer ni za upo ra bo na regio nal ni rav ni ozi ro ma so bolj infor ma tiv ne ga zna ča ja, saj ne upo - šte va jo vsa ko krat nih raz mer in kra jev nih last no sti kam nin. Kljub temu pa jih lah ko šte je mo za ene ga od virov za bolj še razu me va nje sou či no va nja pro ce sov v po kra ji ni (po tres in poboč ni pro ce si), s tem pa tudi kot pris pe vek za bolj šo pri prav lje nost na med seboj pove za ne ali sood vi sne (ka skad ne) narav ne nesreče. Pri ka za ni zem lje vi di so torej tudi posred no meri lo za ugo tav lja nje prož no sti pokra ji ne v smi slu hitro - sti obno ve (po vrat na doba poboč nih pro ce sov pove či ni ni zna na, več pa ima mo podat kov o po vrat ni dobi spro žil nih dejav ni kov, kot so pada vi ne in potre si) in v smi slu pri prav lje no sti na narav ne nesre če. Ljub lja na. 6 Summary: Co-seismic slope processes in Slovenia (translated by Nataša Pregl) Concurrent slope processes often cause the most damage during earthquakes. Whereas events like these only received global attention during the earthquake in the Chinese region of Wenchuan in 2008, Slovenia experienced them on April 12th 1998 when approximately a hundred rockfalls were triggered during the strongest earthquake on Slovenian territory in the 20th century. Apart from slope stability, one of the main causal factors of seismic slope processes is the expected peak ground acceleration. The article describes an assessment of the critical ground or slope acceleration 132

17 Geografski vestnik 87-1, 2015 Metode and stability on Slovenian territory, and therefore an estimate of the risk of slope process activation and expected ground movements during earthquakes. A calculation of the abovementioned elements by means of the so-called Newmark's method includes slope inclination, cohesion and specific rock weight, the depth and inclination of the slide surface as well as gravitational acceleration. The estimated peak ground acceleration for Slovenia with a return period of 475 years was also taken into consideration. The result was evaluated based on the data on slope processes obtained from the Slovenian National Landslide Database, and on the rockfalls that were triggered during the earthquake in Soča Valley in Based on relief and rock data, the critical acceleration that may trigger slope processes was calculated for the territory of Slovenia. The critical acceleration value was then compared with the expected earthquake acceleration to establish the areas with a higher risk of seismic slope processes. Both the safety factor and the Newmark's movement were calculated for these areas as well. The spatial distribution of the safety factor that shows the stability of slopes very well matches the data on the position of slope processes from the Slovenian National Landslide Database, i.e. 60% of landslides are in unstable areas, 4% in relatively stable areas and 36% in stable areas. Landslides usually occur more frequently at lower values of critical ground acceleration, and less frequently at higher values since a higher critical acceleration value means that a stronger force is needed to activate the movement of the slope or the material accumulated on the slope. Three quarters of the recorded slope processes have been triggered at low critical acceleration values, less than a tenth was triggered at moderate values and a quarter was triggered at high values. A comparison of the calculated critical acceleration and the acceleration demonstrated during earthquakes of expected magnitude (Lapajne, Šket Motnikar and Zupančič 2001) shows that during an earthquake with a return period of 475 years, the critical acceleration of slopes was obtained mainly in the Alpine Sava Hills, the Julian Alps, on Strojna, Kozjak and Pohorje, in Slovenske gorice, in the Cerkno, Škofja Loka, Polhov Gradec and Rovte hills, and in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. In addition, the position of unstable slopes for such processes in Slovenia was calculated based on the statistical analysis of 1006 co-seismic rockfalls in the Friuli region in Further on, co-seismic slope processes were analysed from the perspective of their position on the slope and based on faults. During earthquakes, slope processes most frequently start on the upper parts of the slopes where the seismic acceleration is higher due to the topographical effect and because of stronger oscillation in comparison with the lower parts and near the faults. During the Soča Valley earthquake in 1998, most of the slope processes were triggered a few hundred metres above the bottom of the valley (Natek, Komac and Zorn 2003). Approximately half of them were rockfalls. Co-seismic slope processes are an important factor in the reshaping of mountain ridges since they»remove«and round off the highest, convex parts of the slopes and reduce the inclination of the steepest parts of the slopes respectively, and at the same time ensure an exceptional inflow of sediments into the rivers which often causes their impoundment. This article estimates the risk of landslide and rockfall activation during in the event of an earthquake. The methods described are applicable for assessment on a regional level. The Newmark's method that takes into consideration the properties of rocks and the surface relief can be used for evaluating the statistical methods of landslide risk assessment (Zorn in Komac 2008). According to our estimates, roughly a third of the slope processes recorded in the Slovenian National Landslide Database can be classified as rockfalls. 133
