The property s klometres north of Youbou on Vancouver sland, and s owned by DRC Resources Corporaton, -00 West Pender Street, Vancouver B.C:VC V. Prevo~~ work on the property by DRC Resou~.~s has conssted of geologcal mappng, prospectng, sol geochemcal samplng and W-EM geophyscal surveyng. Ths work was carred out durng the perod 0-0. These programs ndcated several types of mneralzaton occur on the property, the most sgnfcant of whch s skam mneralzaton. Several copper, tungsten and molybdenum sol geochemcal anomales were also outlned Theskarnmllemh ' ton has been exposed n a number of old workngs ncludng adts and trenches and occurs along the contact of a cherty tuff unt and dorte-gabbro slls. A decson wvm made to carry out a magnetometer survey over the area of known workngs to see f sgnfcant magnetc responses could be obtaned from the skams. The program conssted of establshng a grd and carryng out a magnetometer survey and geologcal mappng over the grd. The clam area s underlan by a sequence of sedmentary and volcanc rocks whch are thought to be part of the Scker Group. They trend n a northwesterly drecton through the central porton of the grd area Ths cherty Munt has been ntruded by two northwesterly trendng slls, probably of the hutsen Formatoa Contact metamorphc garnet-epdote-pyroxene skarns occur as replacement zones n hey portons of the tuff unt near the contacts of the dorte-gabbro slls. The skarn mneralzaton contans chal~te, motte, magnette, scheelte, pyrte and molybdente. 11 .0 GEOLOGY AND MNERALZATON. REGONAL GEOLOGY The most recent descrpton of the regonal geology of the Wdow clam area s by Massey and Frday of the Brtsh Columba Geologcal Survey Branch n. A synopss of ther descrpton s gven below. The oldest rocks n the area are volcanc and sedmentary unts of the Paleozoc Scker Group. These unts range n age fom Late Sluran to Early Perman and are ntruded by mafc slls, and overlan unconformably by basaltc volcancs of the Late Trassc Karmutsen Formaton. Overlyng the Karmutsen Formaton are lmestones, arglltes and tuffaceous sedments of the Quatsno ard Parson Bay Formatons, whch wth the Karmutsen Formaton make up the Vancower Group. The Vanmwer Group s ~nformably to dsconfwmably overlan' by matne sedments and marne to subaeral volcancs of the Early to Mddle Jurassc Bonanza Group. All of these sequences have been ntruded by granodorte stocks of the Mddle Jurassc sland ntrusons. Late Cretaceous sedments of the Nanamo Group le unconformably on the older sequences.. CLhl GEOLOGY The clam area underlanby the grd was mapped usng the same rock unts as prevous work programs on the property. Only those rock unts found on the grd area (Fgure ) are descrbed below. The clam area s rnderlah by a sequence of sedmentaq and volcanc rocks (Unt ) whch trend n a northwesterly drecton through the central porton of the grd. area. Ths sedmentary-volcanc sequence s thought to part of the Scker Group and s a fne graned, greensh colored, cherty tuff. Unt s cut by two northwesterly trendng dorte-gabbro bodes (Unt ) whch appear to be slls, probably of the Karmutsen Formaton. These slls are frne to medum graned, greensh rocks, contanng varyng amounts of mafc mnerats. Occasonally porphyrtc phases are present n the frne grakdrnember. Gametepdote pyroxene skarns (Unt ) occur as replacement zones n lmey portons of the cherty tuff unt near contacts wth the dorte-gabbro slls. Quartz venng often accompanes the skarn mneralzaton. The skam mneralzaton appears to be dated to the slls but t may also be related to the nearby Jurassc Reynard Creek stock.

13 '. MNERALZATON The most mportant type of mneralzaton on the property s contact metamorphc garnet-epdote pyroxene (actnolte) skams, these ccur as replacement m s n hey portons of the cherty tuff unt near the ConfELCfs wth the dorte-gabbro slls. The skarn mes Contan chalcopyrte accompaned by pyrte, pyrrhotte, magnette andmolybdente. Quartz, calcte and garnet are the man gangue mnerals. Anomalous precous metal and tungsten values also occur wth the skarn mneralzaton.. The skambodes are exposed at anumber of locatons onthe nadts andtrenches. n several locatons 0. to.o metre wde molybdente rch quartz vens occur wth the skam bodes. One assay () of the ven materal gave 0.% MoS,0.% W0,.% Cy 0.0 ou'ton Au and 0. odton Ag over.0 metres. The skarn umes appear to be from 0. to. metres n wdth, but the exact dmensons of the zones are dffcult to determne due to heavy overburden.. MAGNETOMETER SURVEY.0 GEOPHYSCS A total feld magnetc survey was carred out on lnes through (Fgure ). The magnetc response was modefate wth values rangng fom 0 nt to 0 nt. The southwestem and northeastern portons of the grd have the hghest magnetc responses. These areas correspond to the dorte-gabbro slls, wth the bghest responses appearng to correspond wth the more mafc parts of the slls. A zone of lower magnetsm extends n a northwesterly drecton through the central porton of the grd from lne (+0N to +N) to lne (+N to +N). Ths zone of lower magnetsm corresponds to the mapped extent of the cherty tuff Unt (Unt ). Durng the course of the magnetometer survey, grd lnes were ran over four of the old workngs contanng skarn mneralzaton (Ll, +00N, L,+ M, +N and L,+0N). n all four cases the areas of old workngs wth skam mneralzaton gave hgher than background magnetc values wthn the broad zone of lower magnetsm. The hghest magnetc response was on lne (+0N) wth a value of nt, nt above background. Two areas wthn the me of lower magnetsm gave hgher than background magnetc values. The f'rst s located on lne at +!N, whle the second extends fom lne and +SN to lne and +00N. Thesemagnetchghsmay skarn- ' 'onormoremagnetcn~~~vemks of the dorte-gabbro slls.
