1 Recommendation To be submitted to Interior Health Authority for monthly update. Monthly Summary 1.0 Background 25 membrane filtration bacteriological samples and 5 presence absence tests were collected in October from the Lake Country Water System: Vernon Creek, Okanagan Lake, Oyama Creek, Kalamalka Lake and the Coral Beach water systems (Okanagan Lake) all of which were negative for total coliforms and E.coli. The Eldorado Reservoir now also acts as the water quality lab and we are now able to incubate presence absence tests for total coliforms/e.coli. The monthly average water chemistry results are located in Table 2. A Water Quality Advisory remains on the Vernon Creek and Kal Lake sources due to elevated turbidity. Both water quality advisories and the Boil water notice on the Oyama creek source are expected to continue for at least the duration of irrigation season (end of October) or longer. The range tenures remained in contact with DLC staff this month to keep them updated on cattle movement in the Oyama Creek watershed. However, high coliform counts continued to be detected in the raw water and as such the Boil Water Notice on the Oyama creek source must remain in effect. On October 15 th a follow up meeting to the cattle management plan and infrastructure funding took place at the DLC. According to MOFR some fencing has already been done prior to the meeting; high vulnerability zones may not have been addressed during these works. IH requested that MOFR work with Ecoscape to ensure that the infrastructure upgrades are prioritized to fit within the high vulnerability high risk sites. IH has requested that MOFR provide them (and DLC) with the final plan for review prior to any further work occurring in the watershed. MOFR expects this infrastructure plan to be drafted for review by December as it is necessary part of the Range use Plan that is due for Table 1.
