Ther e ar e televisions, com puter s, tablet scr eens and m or e. People spend tim e in fr ont of scr eens for w or k as w ell as play. They ar e necessar y, how ever m any people spend far too m uch tim e in fr ont of a scr een. Scr een time includes time spent: w atching television using the com puter or inter net texting playing handheld gam es. Too m uch tim e in fr ont of a scr een can be har m ful to our eyes. Individuals ar e encour aged to look aw ay fr om scr eens ever y 20 m inutes so our eyes have a chance to focus on other objects befor e r etur ning to the scr een. Incr eased scr een tim e is often associated w ith decr eased activity. A decr ease in physical activity can lead to w eight gain and other health pr oblem s.
