5 FAQ s How does it wor k?: Using diagnos tic s ignals the module t ells the vehicle t o activat e the r es pective lights. The module does not r ewrit e com put er code or ef fect the vehicle. The codes ar e the same that the dealer could use t o diagnose your vehicle. W ill this bu r n my comput er?: The module does not put out any volt age and will not bur n up t he com put er. It's much like plugging a USB s tick int o your PC. W ill my brake lights still wor k?: Your br ake and tur n signals will over ride the fl ashing patt er n. If the module is active and you hit the br akes or use your tur n signal, that function will over ride. This cannot be disabled as it is an im por t ant safe t y featur e. Does this put my vehicle in r ever se?: The module will not change your vehicle s gear s. However, some vehicle's may activat e the backup camer a scr een because they ar e wir ed in with the r ever se lights. U nfor tunat ely this cannot be disabled at this time. W ill this bu r n up my bulbs?: Like any headlight/t aillight fl asher it will bur n out your bulbs f as t er than nor mal. Af t er mar ke t HIDs will bur n up ver y q uickly because the ballas ts ar e not int ended t o fl ash. Can I change the flash patt er n?: Cur r ently the module is se t t o one fl ash patt er n and cannot be changed. Can I flash my t ail lights?: If your vehicle has a separ at e bulb for the t aillights and br ake lights, then only the br ake light will flash. If your vehicle has one bulb for both, then that bulb will fl ash. My bulb is no t flashing or ver y dim: U nlike LEDs, Halogen bulbs r eq uir e a char ge up and cool down time. Because of this it is not possible t o fl ash them as f as t as LED bulbs. Tr y using a cus t om patt er n t o slow the flash r at e down. Is the module traceable?: Once r emoved, the module does not leave any tr ace of being ins t alled. F or 2018 model year s be sur e t o r emove the gat eway module and r econnect the vehicle's securit y module befor e att em pting t o connect an OBD-II scanner or befor e having the vehicle ser viced. Leaving the gat eway module ins t alled will pr event an OBD-II scanner fr om oper ating pr oper ly.
