2 THE COMPOSER A natie o Cleeland, Ohio, Ryan Nolin holds oth his B.M. and M.M. degrees rom Boling Green State Uniersity (Ohio). He has taught instrumental music or ten years, most recently in the Brecksille-Broadie Heights School District (Ohio), here he directed the high school ind ensemle, marching and, azz ensemle, symphonic and, and eighth grade and. Mr. Nolin as also an instructor in conducting and and scoring at Boling Green State Uniersity and has sered as a sta arranger or the Kansas State Uniersity Marching Band as ell as the BGSU alcon Marching Band. Mr. Nolin is an actie composer and arranger, and has een commissioned to rite or Grade through Grade 6 concert ands, rass quintet, tua quartet, horn ensemle, and solo horn and piano. William Doud Packard and his rother, ames Ward, ormed the Ne York and Ohio Company in 89 to produce incandescent caron-arc lamps and transormers. In 899, along ith George Leis Weiss, they uilt the irst automoile earing the Packard name, a car hich ast ecame a respected name in the automotie industry. Mr. Packard as a man ith a ision hen in came to music as ell. In his last ill and testament, Packard designated that unds ould e set aside in a trust to uild a music hall and inance the estalishment o a and or the ediication and entertainment o the people o Warren. $. million as used rom the trust to uild the W. D. Packard Music Hall ith the remainder o the income rom the trust to e used to maintain the and. Today, the Packard Music Hall is the center o cultural and entertainment programs in the Warren area and aerages oer 50,000 attendees each year.
