1 August 8, La Plata Archuleta Water District c/o Harris Water Engeerg, P.E. 9 East nd Avenue, Suite Durango, Colorado 8 brett@durangowater.com Subject: Geotechnical Engeerg Subsurface Exploration The Proposed Ma Water Le Durango, Colorado PN: GE Mr. Sherman, This letter presents our test bore logs from our field exploration for the Ma Water Le along the east and north side of County Road between the tersections of La Plata County Road and La Plata County Road A. The figure below shows the approximate locations of our test borgs, and where potential shallow formational material may be encountered durg the water le trench excavation. The logs of our test borgs are attached to this letter. We encountered formational material Test Borgs Three, Five, Eight, and Ne Phase E at depths that ranged from one () to two and one-half ( /) below the existg ground surface. The formational material encountered Test Borg Three was consisted of hard claystone material. The formational material encountered Test Borg Eight and Ne consisted of very hard sandstone material. We encountered extremely weathered claystone material Test Borg Five at one () foot below the ground surface. In addition to the test borgs, we observed formational material adjacent to the roadway and the proposed waterle alignment locations depicted on the attached figure. In the remag test borgs, we encountered sandy clay soil with few gravels and cobbles to the bottom of the test borgs at depths that ranged from four () to eight (8). We anticipate that the weathered formational material can be excavated with conventional excavation equipment, but may require substantial effort some areas or where competent formational material is encountered. Please contact us if you have any questions, or if we may be of additional service. Respectfully, TRAUTNER GEOTECH Tom R. Harrison, P.E.
