If your group does not appear in the list below, no contributions have been received for the months shown....self-supporting through our own contributions The A.A. groups themselves ought to be fully supported by the voluntary contributions of their own members. We think that each group should soon achieve this ideal; that any public solicitation of funds using the name of Alcoholics Anonymous is highly dangerous, whether by groups, clubs, hospitals, or other outside agencies; that acceptance of large gifts from any source, or of contributions carrying any obligation whatever, is unwise. Then too, we view with much concern those A.A. treasuries which continue, beyond prudent reserves, to accumulate funds for no stated A.A. purpose. Experience has often warned us that nothing can so surely destroy our spiritual heritage as futile disputes over property, money, and authority.

8 PAGE 8 VOLUME 20 ISSUE 8 D C M C Corner (District Committee Member Chair) First it gets Real, then it gets Interesting, then it gets Real Interesting Maybe after all the turmoil and angst in Alcoholics Anonymous over the last few years, you might want to hear from the folks who serve at AA s General Service Office in New York when they conduct the 2018 Pacific Regional Forum in San Jose on September 7 th thru 9 th. There are 9 Areas in the Pacific Region and the last time this Forum came to our neighborhood was 20 years ago. Register for the Pacific Regional Forum at bit.ly/2018aaprf. We are also getting everything ready the 2018 CNCA06 Area Election Assembly, in Livermore on November 3 rd. California Northern Coastal Area (CNCA) has over 2,000 registered groups and over 60,000 members. Within CNCA there are 23 districts, and District 70 (our district) will be hosting this important event, as well as the Pre-Assembly Dinner the night before. Now is the time to spread the news to every meeting, group, newsletter, sponsee, or random AA member, that we are throwing a party for about 400 of our closest friends. We re looking for great ideas and willing hands to make this a memorable and fun event. Everyone is welcome, whether currently involved in General Service or not. We absolutely insist on enjoying life. The CNCA Area Archivist is compiling a comprehensive History of AA in our Area. He has asked for contributions from anyone with Group or Intergroup histories which he can include in this ambitious project. As you know, General Service is the link between your Group and the Fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous. It starts with your group s General Service Representative (GSR). Bill W. called this the most important job in AA. As always, everyone is welcome in what I believe is the playground of AA. But whatever the service position, consider making yourself available any position that resonates with you. I can guarantee you ll be glad you did. Remember, when they asked Gandhi why he did so much for India, he answered, I don t do it for India, I do it for myself. As always, questions, comments or suggestions are encouraged. Don Zimmerman (925) Does your Group or Fellowship have an upcoming event? Send information or flyers to the Valley View Editor at ValleyView@trivalleyaa.org
