1 Sowing the Seeds, Growing our Heritage District IV Convention, Bismarck, North Dakota Sverdrup Lodge November 2017, Sverdrup Lodge cordially invite you to the 2018 District IV Convention. The convention is being held in Bismarck, North Dakota from June 14-16, This event will provide a great opportunity for members to discover our local Norwegian culture and heritage. We hope for this convention to be a family friendly event that everyone can enjoy. Many wonderful events are being planned such as: President s Reception being held at the North Dakota Heritage Center. Entertainment by local musicians and many more activities. Delegate registration will be $200 each. This will include the President s Reception, continental breakfast Friday and Saturday, lunch Friday and Saturday, and the banquet Saturday evening. Hotel rooms are $109 plus tax for up to two guests in a room. Any extra guests in the room will be at a minimal additional fee. Rooms are being held under the Sons of Norway. The hotel is the Radisson located at 605 East Broadway Avenue in downtown Bismarck, Parking is available in the parking ramp attached to the hotel. All documents sent out will also be on the District IV website at as they are completed. So if you can t find your form, you can print a new one from the website. 6 Registration desk for the Folk Arts Competition will be open Thursday from 4:00-6:00 pm and Friday from 8:00-10:00 am. All crafts should be picked up at the Folk Arts Competition registration desk Saturday afternoon from 3:00-5:00 pm.

7 2018 District #4 Convention Cultural Skills From Camp In an effort to recognize our District 4 Family/Cultural Camps, we invite campers of all ages to enter our special 2018 District #4 Cultural Skills Competition for Campers Only. Entries will be accepted from any 2016, 2017 or 2018 District #4 Camp attendee. The entries will be limited to an approved project from the respective year. Entries need to be 90% completed while at the camp. Class instructors will need to certify the project as completed or 90% completed. If the project was not totally completed in the class period, it can be finished by the attendee and submitted to the competition. Instructor photos are encouraged for each year. Camp Directors can assist in this record. Bonus points will be awarded by the judges for essays that explain the campers experience in the cultural skills project while at camp. Campers may enter projects from all 3 years.
