Readings: Unity Program Yellow Book Unity Step #4 Red Book A Day-at-a-Time April 9 Cindy M Dan B Phil S March minutes: Correction under pinnings to change contact and chair to Sandy M. Motion made by Tony C and second by Bette M to approve March Intergroup minutes as amended. Motion passed. New Intergroup Reps Acknowledged: Name Meeting Time Location Unfinished Business: Brian B made a motion for the spend down of IG funds to use approximately $2,000 to purchase things needed for our annual picnic and store them in a facility that Dan B. has available, second by Pam E. Discussion followed - concerned about things that have been bought in the past; Motion by Bette M second by Ellen Z to table the motion to next IG. New Business: Motion made by Phil S: Subject: Supply Subsidy That Chicagoland Intergroup subsidize supplies for all Gamblers Anonymous groups currently on the Chicagoland GA meeting list in the amount of $60 per room. Intergroup reps will be required to submit a supply order form in person on or by June 11 th Intergroup with a delivery date of supplies to be determined by the supply chairpersons. Second by Dan B. Motion passed. Motion made by Bob D: If one of the Intergroup Chairpersons has to step down, the other Chairs will move up and election will be made for the 2 nd Chair. Motion denied. It was determined that the motion to move the 2 nd chair to the 1 st chair was incorrect. We should have had an election for the open chair. A discussion was had about redoing the election. A motion was made by Mary D and second by Cindy M to leave it as is. Motion passed. Committee Reports: GA & Gam-Anon Spring Conference 2019 Tony C and Cindi M Cindi M and Tony C reporting Presented the times of everything for the weekend. As of IG there are 239 registrations, plus 2 for 241. There are Package A 66; Package B 36; Package C - 6; Package D - 130; 113 dinners; 104 room nights; Website will have most info at springconference19@gachicago.org

When you submit information for a pinning by please include (meeting room/location, date, and if you need a pin(s) in your ). Please ensure you include a phone number when submitting pinning requests in case of questions. Chicagoland GA Pinning Scheduling Guidelines: For a pinning event to be added to the pinning list, it requires submission to the Pinning Chairperson-Sandy M at least 30 days prior to the pinning date and preferably at least one day prior to the Intergroup meeting. Intergroup Reps can do this by ing or calling a submission to the Pinning Chairperson. It is recommended that no meeting schedule more than 1 pinning event in a 30 day period. This is done in order to prevent pinning events being scheduled on the same date in different meeting locations. Chicagoland Intergroup will pay for the pin once the pinnee has qualified to be added to the pinning list. The Intergroup Rep will be asked if the member requesting a pinning, by their own admission, has met all following requirement s to qualify. To be eligible to be pinned, a member must have (Per the Gamblers Anonymous Guidance Code, Article VII, Section 4 stating): Abstinence from gambling and regular attendance of at least thirty-nine (39) Gamblers Anonymous meetings (exceptions can be made, via group conscience decisions, for medical reasons and military stationed overseas) in the prior 12 months, by the member s own admission, is required for pinnings and for all successive anniversaries. Date of abstinence starts from your first meeting after your last bet. Pinning Format General Guidelines: Announce at beginning of pinning that As this is a program of anonymity, we ask that Family & Friends be mindful of this and ask before taking pictures. This is also why we provide first name and last initial only for GA members when introducing them. Announce prior to a collection being taken that: Donations will be accepted only from GA members. While we appreciate contributions offered, our organization is self-supporting. (See Unity step 7 regarding declining outside contributions.) Anyone doing a pressure relief needs to get the disclaimer signed. Pam E will check with ISO about being able to copy the disclaimer page. Motion made by Dan B second by Stan N to give a Pressure Relief booklet to every room. Motion passed. Please notify Dan B or Bob C, if you would like them to speak at your meeting about the different types of Pressure Relief programs and how they work. Public Relations Brian M and Brian B Brian B reporting Last month was Problem Gambling Awareness Month; sent out information to many organizations There is a Peoria Recovery Project in April; 5 hr. program dedicated to 12 step programs. It will be at the Peoria Civic Center. A 20-yr member from the Peoria GA meeting will be bringing information about GA to this event. In May, the Illinois Council on Problem Gambling will be meeting in Springfield. Reminder: Your room will need to place a Supply order for the pin(s) far enough ahead of time to ensure it is available for the pinning event. (Your room will not be charged for the pin this is a CIG expense). Please tell Pinning chairperson (Sandy M) if you need a pin and let a Supply chairperson (Mary W or Elsa S) know, as well. Treasurers Doug K & Tom H - Tom HK reporting During Intergroup, please ensure room contributions are submitted as soon as possible, contributions received after 8:00 p.m. do not allow for the treasury report to be completed before the end of the meeting. The following financial reports were made available to intergroup members in order to keep finances as transparent as possible. o Checking Account Balance The monthly report that includes every check issued, receipts deposited and funds held in trust was distributed. As of 4/9/19 we have available funds for CIG of $30, (this figure is the checking account balance less funds held in trust). Contribution Report (Listed by Room) April report is attached Documents details by room for ISO and CIG contributions and Supply purchases. Receipts are available if you bring in cash or if your room wants a receipt; otherwise they will be posted on the following month s handout. Please check the Contribution Report. Reps are responsible for ensuring it is correct. o Pinning report A hand out was provided for rooms with pinning funds. This report details pinning funds held in trust for rooms that have CIG holding their pinning money. Report shows there is currently $3, pinning funds held in trust.
