12 Dinamičke strukture složenih reakcionih sistema Sistemi izvedeni iz ravnoteže se mogu samoorganizovati na načine nesvojstvene polaznom stanju. Katalitička oksidacija CO do CO 2 na površini platine i formiranje složenih struktura na granici faza Prof. dr Gerhard Ertl, dobitnik Nobelove nagrade za hemiju godine, posvetio je svoj naučni rad ispitivanju tipičnih fizičkohemijskih reakcionih sistema, konkretno, kompleksnih procesa i samoorganizacionih pojava na površiničvrstih tela. Grafički prikaz procesa koji se dešava na katalizatoru u automobilu i prikaz načina na koji se odvija oksidacija CO.

20 Najinteresantnije dinamičke strukture u vremenu kao što su multistabilnost, prosto oscilatorno dinamičko stanje, oscilacije mešanih modova i haos, posmatraćemo malo detaljnije na reakciji razlaganja vodonikperoksida u prisustvu jodatnog i vodoničnog jona, + 3 IO, H H O 2H O + O poznatoj pod nazivom Bray-Liebhafsky (BL) oscilatorna reakcija.

21 Zašto analiziramo Bray-Liebhafsky reakciju? To je nelinearna reakcija sa povratnom spregom, naizgled veoma jednostavna, ali složena, mada ne tako složena kao što je to bilo koja biohemijska reakcija.

22 U ovoj složenoj homogenoj katalitičkoj reakciji (ili, bolje, procesu) učestvuju brojni intermedijeri kao što su I 2, I, HIO, HIO 2 i drugi. 28 Ako želimo da objasnimo različita dinamička stanja složenih sistema, a i da predvidimo njihovo ponašanje, treba da postuliramo model mehanizma. U tu svrhu, pored eksperimentalnih ispitivanja, mi vršimo i različita teorijska izračunavanja zajedno sa numeričkim simulacijama.

37 Ako znamo da modeliramo Bray-Liebhafsky reakciju ili bilo koju drugu oscilatornu reakciju, mi možemo modelirati i druge kompleksne reakcione sisteme i predvideti samoorganizacione pojave u njima. Zašto modeliramo složene reakcione sisteme? I Modeliranjem je moguće predvideti ponašanje sistema i nastajanje različitih dinamičkih struktura. II Modeliranje je jedan od načina ispitivanja mehanizma složenog procesa.
