1 INTRCTION GEK-296C IGNAL LEVEL DETECTOR 193X277ACG1, G2 These instructions do not purport to cover oil detils or vritions in equipment nor to provide for every possible contingency to be met in connection with instlltion, opertion or mintennce. houldfurther informtion be desired or shouldprticulr problems nse which re not covered sufficiently for the purchser s purposes, the mtter should be referred to Generl Electric Compny GENERAL ELECTRIC
2 1. GENERAL INTRCTION IGNAL LEVEL DETECTOR, 193X277AC1, G2 This instruction provides bsic informtion regrding the subject crd. Refer to the system elementry digrms for informtion relting to the overllsystem opertion. 2. DECRIPTION (Test point nd tb references re mde with respect to the GOl crd nd chnnel A of the G2 crd only). 2~O1 This crd provides rely opertion nd indiction when the input voltge exceeds preset positive nd/or negtive level 2.2 Two crd versions re vilble: GOl: one rely chnnel G2: two identicl rely chnnels 2.3 The input voltge level t tb 22 to produce rely pick-up cn be djusted by the level dj. potentiometer for voltge rnge of.1v to ]IOV mesured t test post TP1. Thepick-up level is fixed t 1OV ±.15Vmesured t TP2. The input voltge t tb 22 should not exceed ±V. 2. The crd my be connected for pick-up t either positive input, negtive input or both: Positive polriztion: tndrd Negtive polriztion: Connect tb 19 to tb 2. Non-polrized: Connect tb 19 to tb The dropout level is pproximtely 9% of the pick-up level. By connecting tb 2 to tb 31 (2V) the dropout level cn be djusted with the hysteresis potentiometcr for dropout level from 9% to 98% of the pick-up level. 2.6 The RC time constnt of the input filter cn be reduced from 2 to 2 milliseconds by connecting tb 23 to tb 22. Additionl filtering cn be obtined by connecting cpcitor between tb 23 nd common (tb 15). CATiON TO AVOID RELAY CHAlTERING IT I EENTIAL THAT THE PEAK TO PEAK RIPPLE VOLTAGE MEARED AT TP2 AT THE PICK P LEVEL I LE THAN THE HYTEREI VOLTAGE. 2 7 The pilot duty rting of the rely interlocks re 3A holding nd l.5a inrush t 115VAC. 3. ADJTMENT 3.1 Apply the desired pick-up voltge level t tb 22. Turn the Level Adj. pot CCW until the rely picks up. Check reverse polrity for nonpolrized opertion. 3.2 If less thn the stndrd 1% hysteresis is required turn the hysteresis pot CW for mximum hysteresis with tb 2 connected to 2V (tb 31). Repet step 3.1. Reduce the input voltge t tb 22 to the desired dropout level. Turn the hysteresis pot CCW until the rely drops out. Increse input filtering to void rely chttering if necessry. TROBLEHOOTING.1 Check for: ) Proper input connections. b) Proper polrity jumpers if required. c) Proper djustments s described bove. d) ufficient filtering t TP2..2 Check for ctul opertion of the rely interlocks..3 If crd filures re experienced, check for: ) Excessive voltge (bove ±V)t tb 22. b) Excessive rely interlock duty. c) Excessive voltge trnsients on rely interlock wires. If n interlock is used in nother rely coil circuit, the coil should be suppressed. Long wire runs to the rely interlocks should be voided. 2
