2 What is Geophysics? Earth science discipline using principals of physics to image the ground (or other materials) usually non intrusive methods. Broad range of scale from large scale global seismology (earthquakes) and volcanoes, to oil and gas exploration, mineral and resource exploration, national geological surveys, local surveys for new developments to small scale surveys on individual buildings. Various backgrounds, not all went to university. All have good Maths and English qualifications. 2 support staff without university degrees.
