12 The MChem degree program Four years including in the final year A laboratory research project for 50% of year 4 advanced lectures at the cutting edge of the subject taught by research leaders Transferable graduate-level skills learned during research project are highly valued by employers: independence, problem solving, data analysis, presentation skills Because of the greater career opportunities we recommend that you enrol for the MChem unless you are sure that a BSc is appropriate Essential for progression to PhD (very popular option!) Transfer from MChem to BSc is possible

13 The BSc degree program The BSc is a three year programme, that is identical to the first three years of the MChem course It is designed for those who require a recognised degree qualification in science and is ideal preparation for a career in many fields (Teaching; Nursing; Accountancy; Management; Sales and Marketing ) The BSc degree enables entry to a wide range of MSc graduate programmes Transfer from BSc to MChem programmes is possible subject to performance
