An Executive Project Director was hired in June 2016, and the Environmental and Social Safeguards Specialist and Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist positions have also been filled in August Additionally, a new accounting specialist, and the Coordinator for Component 2 were filled with MAyDS's own staff. Thus all 10 of the key positions in the PIU have been filled. The performance of the incumbents will be reviewed annually. The three Local Executing Units in the Salta, Santiago del Estero and Chaco Provinces have been staffed with a total of 18 technicians and administrative staff. Agreements with Rural Development Agencies (ADR) and NGOs to develop Integrated Community Plans. The PIU has signed a General (umbrella) Agreement with INTI (National Institute for Industrial Technology), to support specific community-driven investments to improve water access. Additionally, it has also signed a General Agreement with INTA (National Institute for Agriculture Technology), to support the development of Integrated Community Plans (PICs) and other project activities. A general call for expression of interest from NGOs was advertised in national and provincial newspapers with broad circulation, and by November NGOs had expressed interest in supporting the rural communities from the project area to develop their PICS. In parallel, the Sub-national Project Executing Units have already received 49 "PIC ideas" from communities interested in benefitting from the project. 12/12/2016 Page 2 of 13
