3 Objectives LABORATORY OF NANOSCALE MATERIALS 2 Our R & D Project: NANOMAC We are involved in the study and development of a technology that allows the industrial production of nanostructured powders for electrodes of lithium ion batteries used in electric vehicles. By producing nanostructured materials we will be able to add value to the raw materials produced in Chile ( and Lithium Hydroxide). Our work concern the development of the industrial process and the synthesis, characterization and improvement of the purity of the nanopowders. 4. Li 2 CO 3 market share is approx. 30% Royalty for Lithium Exportations is 6,8% per quarter (Carbonate, Hydroxide and minerals). Received about 14 M USD in 2007 and 21 M USD in 2008 (COCHILCO, 2009).
