11 English Translation 1 When we can see the blood-wood tree blossoming we know its time for honey and fish. 2 When we see muḏiḏi flowering it time for collecting sugar bag (honey). 3 When we can see persoonia falcata tree (wiḻwag) blossoming we know its time for the fruit to fall down. 4 We can see wild red apple tree (yalhinga) f l o w e r i n g i t s t i m e for fruit to form and we can eat the fruit of yalhinga. 5 When we see paperbark ( ḻiiwa) flowering we know its time for honey.

12 6 When we see, the kurrajong ( yarrawug) flowering we know its time for the fruit and its a good time to catch dugong and turtle. 7 The wild green plum tree (m uynjuj) is flowering and we know that the fruit will soon be ripe to eat. 8 When we can see the wild cotton tree (lhirrij) seed-pods we know its time to collect large lily seed and stems ( ayag).
