3 - l - INTRODUCTION Walker Exploration Ltd. contracted to carry out a magnetometer survey over a 15 claim group located in the east central part of Katrine Township, along the Larder Station road north of Larder Lake. Linecutting and chaining was done by another contractor, Jean Alix Co. Ltd, in January 1986, while the magnetometer survey was done March 7 and May 30, 1986, amounting to kilometers of line surveyed. The survey was carried out with an EDA PPM 300 total field proton magnetometer, with a EDA PPM 400 base station magnetometer for diurnal drift control. SUMMARY Contours of magnetics show a general east-west trend. Some isolated highs occur near the south boundary. The northern third of the grid is flat compared to the southern section of the grid.

4 ** 2 PROPERTY The 15 claim group is located in the east central part of Katrine Township. The Larder Lake Station road crosses the grid from south to north and is about 15 kilometers north of Larder Lake. The 15 claims in the group are L L inclusive and L L85938A inclusive. PREVIOUS WORK No work has been recorded in the assessment files. However it is expected that considerable prospecting has been carried out over the years, with such good access. GEOLOGY O.G.S. Map 2061 The area is underlain with Archean intermediate to basic volcanics with intrusives of diorite and quartz diorite. The claim group has east-west volcanics with intrusives of diorite on the west part of the grid, as shown: on map northeast trending fault is shown to cross the claim group. A

5 - 3 - SURVEY METHOD The magnetic survey was performed with an EDA PPM 300 proton magnetometer, measuring total field to 0.1 gammas. Diurnal control was made by using an EDA PPM 400 base station magnetometer, located on the Esker Lake road, just north of Highway 66. Other grids on this project are tied into this common base station. The field magnetometer and base station magnetometer have solid state memory for storage of values and locations of stations read. The instruments have built-in clocks which are synchronized each day. The units are plugged together each evening and the built- in computer programme in the base station allows for automatic diurnal correction of data collected. This corrected data was stored on the cassette of an HP85 computer in the field, and later transferred to an IBM compatible computer for final plotting. Observations were made at 12.5 meter stations on lines with 125 meter spacing. Values are plotted on a plan at a scale of 1:5000. Contours of values are plotted on a separate sheet. SURVEY RESULTS The contoured magnetics show a general east-west trend to

6 the volcanics. Offsets in the pattern suggest at least 2 north trending faults. A change is seen in the relatively flat background in the northern third of the grid, relative to the south section.
