Part 1: Coherence between coastal vulnerability maps Reference to the VNK Netherland main governmental project and other plans/methods Adoption or proposition of standards for the coastal erosion representation Erosion Atlas
Part 1: Coherence between coastal vulnerability maps The flood risk is quantified by the product of the probability of a flood (measured in event per year) by the consequences of that flood (measured in euro per event). Thus: Reference to the VNK Netherland main governmental project and other plans/methods Adoption of methodologies consistent with Directive 70/2006 /CE -Flood Risk flood risk ( /year) = flood probability (event/year) x consequences ( )
Part 1: Coherence between coastal vulnerability maps Reference to the VNK Netherland main governmental project and other plans/methods Adoption of methodologies consistent with Directive 70/2006 /CE -Flood Risk Exposed Goods assessment fully transferable COFLERMap
Part 1: Coherence between coastal vulnerability maps Reference to the VNK Netherland main governmental project and other plans/methods Adoption of methodologies consistent with Directive 70/2006 /CE -Flood Risk Original formulas for a simplified but coherent method COFLERMap
Part 1: Coherence between coastal vulnerability maps Reference to the VNK Netherland main governmental project and other plans/methods Adoption of methodologies consistent with Directive 70/2006 /CE -Flood Risk Sensitiveness analysis to test the method solidity. COFLERMap
Part 1: Coherence between coastal vulnerability maps Reference to the VNK Netherland main governmental project and other plans/methods Adoption of methodologies consistent with Directive 70/2006 /CE -Flood Risk Risk localization for its territorial representation. COFLERMap

Risk Assessment and its monetization Risk cost = /y Adaptation cost = /y Residual Risk cost= /y R-(A+RR) = BENEFIT = /y Part 1: Coherence between coastal vulnerability maps
Part 2: Shared tools for the forecast and management of the CC effects along the coast 1.Reference to White Paper for Adaptation to CC 2.Adoption of methodologies consistent with DG MARE The PESETA study is the most exhaustive report estimating the cost of adaptation that would be required to protect Europe's coastal zones against SLR and flooding on a country-by country basis. Therefore this study was taken as benchmark to assess the differences between the real expenditure and the theoretical estimated amount of coastal protection and climate adaptation.
Part 2: Shared tools for the forecast and management of the CC effects along the coast 1.Reference to White Paper for Adaptation to CC 2.Adoption of methodologies consistent with DG MARE 3.Adoption or proposition of standards for the coastal adaptation costs (DIVA model)
Part 2: Shared tools for the forecast and management of the CC effects along the coast DIVA MODEL APPLICATION WITH REGIONAL DETAIL
European Topic Centre on Climate Change impacts, vulnerability and Adaptation (ETC/CCA) Methods for assessing coastal vulnerability to climate change - Technical Paper 1/2011. Part 2: Shared tools for the forecast and management of the CC effects along the coast A comparative analysis among the most promising assessment approaches (DIVA, DESYCO and RegIS) would be very useful. A first comparison could be done for the Mediterranean Sea, since DESYCO will be applied to this region and DIVA has already been used for this region. A comparison of model results with the outcomes of existing vulnerability assessments of the coastal zone (e.g. Eurosion project) would also provide useful indications of the robustness of results using different approaches DIVA MODEL APPLICATION WITH REGIONAL DETAIL
