Smaller cloud drops cause colder glaciation temperatures, so factors reducing drop size also elevate glaciation height. Cloud and precipitation probes Updrafts 2. How much latent heat of freezing depends on early rainout? Cloud aerosol invigoration occurs, in part, due to aerosols preventing early rainout of cloud water from reaching the freezing level.
